SCP-42069-1

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-42069 are to be kept in individual one-room living spaces, furnished with a bed, desk, chair, and sink. Some limited number of personal effects may be permitted, so long as they do not compromise security. Pressure sensors and laser detectors should be installed in the living spaces to monitor containment when video feeds are unavailable. ███████ █████████████ ██████████ ███ █████████, subject to the following restrictions: personnel are to remain a six-foot distance away from instances of SCP-42069 at all times; any instance of SCP-42069 must wear a mask that obscures the majority of its face. If any instance of SCP-42069 attempts to remove its mask, all personnel should immediately face away from the entity and attempt to exit the room as quickly as possible, and video feeds from the entity’s location should be terminated.

If personnel who have recently interacted with an instance of SCP-42069 report a strong desire for socialization, friendship, companionship, or other forms of positive human interaction, the entity’s privileges will be restricted and the member of personnel is to refrain from contact with instances of SCP-42069 for a minimum time period of two weeks. Frequent expressions of sympathy for instances of SCP-42069 are cause for reassignment to a different facility or the administration of amnestics.

Description: SCP-42069 designates ██ █████ ██ █ ██████ ██ ███████ █████████ █████████ ████████████ ███ ████████████ ███████ █ ████████ ███ ██ ████████ ████████████████ ██████████ ███ ████████ ████ ██ ██ ████████ ██ █████████ ███████ █ ██████ ██ ██████ ██████████████ ██ ███ ███████ These generally take the form of changes to the entity’s face, but may also distort the immediate surroundings of SCP-42069. Reported visual distortions include: deforming or disappearing features; ███ ████████ ██ ██████ ██████████ ██ ███████ █████ ███████ ██ ███ ██ ███ ████████ █████ ███ ██████ █████████ ██ ████ ███ ████ ██ ████████ ████ █████ ██ ███ ███████ ███ █████████ ██ █████ ███ ████████ ██ ███ ████████ ███████ ███ ██████ █████████ ██ ████ ████████ ██ ███████ ██████ ██████ ███ █████████████ ██ █████████ ██████ ███ ███████ █████ ███ █████████ █████████ ██ █████████ in appearance. ██████████████ ███████ ███ █████████████ █ ███████ █████ ███████ ███ ███████ ███ ████ ████ ████████ ██ █████ ███████████████ ████████████ ██ █████████████ ███ ███ █████████ ████████ ███ ████████████

Instances of SCP-42069 themselves are partially immune to this effect; instances only experience anomalous visuals when [DATA EXPUNGED]. According to the testimony of several instances, ███ ██████████████ ███ ████████ ███████ ██ ██████ ███████ █████████ ███████████ ███████ ██ ███████ ███ █ ████████ ███ ██████ ████████ ██ █████ ██████████ ███ ██ ██████████ ██ ███████████ ██ ███ █████████ ████ ██████ ████████ ████ ██████ ███████████ ███ ████████ ███ ███████████ ██████ ██ ████ ████ ██████ ████ ███████ ██████, e.g. after the removal of corrective lenses or while squinting.

Instances of SCP-42069 cause an additional anomalous effect in individuals who interact with them, which varies from individual to individual but ██ █████████ █████████████ ██ ██ ███████ ██████ ███ ██████████ ██████ ████████ ███████ ████ ███████ ██████ █████████ ███ ████████ ██ █████████ ███████. This effect consistently manifests when the entity’s face is viewed directly or when individuals approach within six feet of an instance of SCP-42069. The effect fades within █ hours in ██% of cases, but in more severe situations a small dose of class A amnestics has proven effective at neutralizing any anomalous emotions.

All instances of SCP-42069 have a tendency to collect certain types of objects if permitted. Some of these objects follow an obvious pattern, but the categorizations that are being used for other objects are less clear. Tests are underway to determine the classification methods that SCP-42069 is using for these collected objects
