Containment procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 3m × 3m × 3m Room accessible only by personnel with Level 4 clearance or higher. The room's walls are to be lined with one inch of silver. This room is to be guarded by no less than 2 personnel with level 3 clearance.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a Small, blue, alien device of unknown origin. The device is 12 inches by 5 inches by 4 inches in size, resembles a radio, and has multiple protrusions coming from the top resembling antennae. Device weighs 200 lbs, but the device's weight can randomly fluctuate at random for unknown reason. Material tests are inconclusive, as the device is made of unknown materials. This device emits extreme amounts of high intensity radio waves, and completely maxes out all radiation detection devices. No harmful radiation is actually present, as all D- Class personnel exposed to the device have no traces of radiation burns, or illness. (See addendum-XXXX-B) The device periodically shuts off all radio emotions, as well as radiation emissions, every 38 hours. These "blackouts" last 3 minutes. A specific star in the Andromeda galaxy, named SCP-XXXX-2, sends binary code, as well as random high-energy radio waves, to the device, and these radio waves can be detected in a 200 kilometer radius. These radio wave emissions by SCP-XXXX-2 correspond with the "blackouts" of SCP-XXXX, lasting 3 minutes. Binary code sent by SCP-XXXX-2, when translated, reads the following: "Object XXXX Data harvest complete. 2 petabytes of data received. Object XXXX location: Earth. Data collection required for planetary advancement: 2384 petabytes." SCP-XXXX seems to be harvesting data from earth and sending it to an alien race of some kind. These aliens have the intent of inhabiting Earth. An exclusion zone with a radius of 235 kilometers has been set up, guarded by Armed personnel. The silver lining of The device's containment chamber is intended to block, absorb, and reflect the radio waves emitting from the device, as to prevent Foundation equipment from being interfered with by the stray radio waves. It also serves to prevent radio detection by civilians.
Addendum-XXXX-A: SCP-XXXX was recovered on █/█/█ by Foundation personnel after The device spontaneouly entered low Earth orbit, remained for two days, and then crash landed in ██,██ somehow leaving LOE as if powered by a propulsion device. No evidence of a propulsion device was discovered. Device suffered no damage. Device was recovered without incident, and the Event and was written off as an asteroid crash.
Addendum-XXXX-B: 3 D-Class personnel were told to enter Scp-XXXX's chamber, have been given no knowledge of it. They remained for 3 minutes, and were subsequently told to leave, and recovered. Dr.█████ commented on the incident: "They're fine!? THEY'RE [expletive] FINE? The recovery team was fine, but they wore protective equipment. This is beyond me."
Addendum-XXXX-C: Seeing as andromeda is 780 kiloparsecs away from Earth, there is no way SCP-XXXX and SCP-XXXX-2 are communicating via radio waves. The erratic radio waves and Geiger counter interference emitting from SCP-XXXX may be a result of an advanced form of communication currently unknown to humanity. As to how SCP-XXXX-2 could send binary via radio is still unknown.
Addendum-XXXX-D: Dr.[expunged] recommends termination. "They only need like 2000 more petabytes, God knows how long that's going to take!" No termination plans are being discussed at the moment. SCP-XXXX needs more study.
