Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a standard humanoid containment cell within site-██. Daily inspections are to be lead by two Security Guards at 24:00 local time to search for any VHS tapes. If any contraband is found all video tapes are to be reviewed and all personnel who have entered the cell since the last inspection will be interrogated.

Subject requires constant monitoring by at least one personnel at any given time, if any anomalous behaviour occurs the security personnel assigned to SCP-XXXX must enter SCP-XXXX's holding cell and tranquilize the entity and confiscate all VHS tapes.

VHS tapes are prohibited to be in SCP-XXXX’s possesion outside of testing conditions.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 190 centimeter tall male human with brown hair and basic body build. Though in its upper torso is a rectangular cavity that supports the 'use' of VHS tapes. When a VHS tape is inserted into the cavity, SCP-XXXX will transform into a character from the VHS tape's content, seemingly at random. However, SCP-XXXX will not acquire any anomalous properties or inanimate objects or weapons from said character.

When SCP-XXXX is questioned about its anomalous powers it simply explains that's his purpose as an, 'entertainment system.' SCP-XXXX can not remember what happened during the time of his transformation. X-ray scans performed on SCP-XXXX’s torso indicate that it is missing the standard upper ribs1, as well as part of the upper spine2

So far SCP-XXXX has been cooperative with the Foundation in its research. SCP-XXXX shows no signs of hostility to any personnel unless transformed.

Addendum-Tests:

Note: The classic SCP-####-X designations have been deemed inadequate when applied to SCP-XXXX’s possibly unlimited range of forms. The designation SCP-####-(NAME OF FORM) has been implemented in this case.

Log format is as follows:

Test Designation - Date (dd/mm/yyyy), Name of Directing Researcher

Tape: Title or Description (Year of Release)

Results: Description of resulting event

Analysis: Any conclusions drawn from event

Test 23, Incident-A -06/11/1999 Lead by Senior Researcher Yorkic

Subject: SCP-XXXX
Test: Jurassic Park (1993)
Results: SCP-XXXX became a Velociraptor as depicted in the film, who proceeded to maul apart the D-class personnel. Two Security guards tranquilized SCP-XXXX, designated SCP-XXXX-RAPTOR. After an hour it seemed the tape, 'burnt up' ejecting itself and reverting SCP-XXXX-RAPTOR back to SCP-XXXX.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX can transform into non-human subjects, as well as tapes becoming destroyed after 2 hours of use.

Test 35, Incident-B -24/1/2000 Lead by Senior Researcher Yorkic

Subject: SCP-XXXX
Tape: Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Results: SCP-XXXX transformed into the fictional criminal psychologist Peter Silberman and was designated SCP-XXXX-SILBERMAN. It attempted to perform a psychological diagnoses on the D-class subject, calming him and inquiring about his past.
Analysis: SCP-XXXX attempts to perform the assigned role of said character in an altered fashion. The D-class was subsequently terminated after attempting to spread SCP-XXXX-SILBERMAN’s “teachings” to other personnel.

Test 51, Incident-C -12/5/2001 Lead by Senior Researcher Yorkic

Subject: SCP-XXXX
Tape: Blank VHS tape (███)
Results: SCP-XXXX transformed into the D-class subject who inserted the tape. SCP-XXXX-D-CLASS was a complete mirror image of the subject. The “original” subsequently exhibited psychological stress, banging on the containment cell's door while begging to be released.
Analysis: When SCP-XXXX is given a blank cassette, it takes the form of the person who inserted the cassette. The D-class, as a result of the traumatic experience, was not compliant with future requests, resulting in termination.

Test 72. Incident-D -09/12/2001 Lead by Senior Researcher Yorkic

Addendum-Interview

Interviewed: SCP-XXXX

Interviewer: Senior Researcher Zachariah

Foreword: Senior Researcher Zachariah is interviewing SCP-XXXX to inquire more about its abilities and it's purpose.

<Begin Log, 3:24pm, 09/04/2003>

Senior Researcher Zachariah: So…. SCP-XXXX, did you have a name you were called before The Foundation captured you?

SCP-XXXX: I did in fact. I was called Markus Thomas,

Senior Researcher Zachariah: And who called you that? Did you have any family?

SCP-XXXX: My bosses gave me that name, and no, I don't have a biological family as I wasn't exactly brought into this world through that way.
Senior Researcher Zachariah: Mhmm, tell me, if you weren't 'born' in any conventional means, how were you made?

SCP-XXXX: I was incubated in a pod to perfectly perform my duties as best as I could.

SCP-XXXX: My bosses at the BlockBuster store I worked at incubated me in the basement. My main purpose was to continue working at BlockBuster and I was given the special power of being able to simulate any Movie character from any Tape that was inserted into my port. The downside was I didn't choose who I got to be, and I don't get to remember what I do when I am transformed.
Senior Researcher Zachariah: How exactly did they pull this off? This isn't anything The Foundation has been able to replicate at all.

SCP-XXXX: [REDACTED]
Senior Researcher Zachariah: Oh dear…. that's… that's quite unfortunate. I think this interview is over.

<End Log, 3:42pm, 09/04/2003>

Closing Statement: Senior Researcher managed to learn vital information on how this anomaly was able to occur. SCP-XXXX was also escorted back into its Containment Cell escorted by 1 Security Guard
