scp-4526 is to be blocked off from unauthorized personell's arrival or entering at all costs with 17 inch thick reinforced steel walls. every twenty four to five hours, a pound of organic edible material is to be dumped in a random spot in order to feed all inhabitants. animals, excluding all primates, are allowed to enter, but it is not a requirement to allow them to do so.
description: SCP-4526 is a 10 and a half mile area in [REDACTED] which contains multiple creatures never identified elsewhere. SCP-4526 contains approximately one lake, five ponds, and a small 20-feet high hill. the ground in SCP-4526 is coated in Rough Meadow-grass (Poa trivialis) and speargrass. half of all unauthorized individuals that enter SCP-4526 never return, due to unknown reasons. within the lakes, common freshwater animals, such as smallmouth bass, rock bass, chain pickerel, and pumpkin seeds are known to exist and thrive.
common instances within SCP-4526 include:
SCP-4526A are blue-purple squat beetle-like insects. they commonly fly in groups and emit a low humming sound when moving. instances of SCP-4526A are known to have a lifespan of atleast 5 years. SCP-4526A are classified as euclid, as they will only swarm once feeling threatened. they appear to use a form of photosynthesis, and will sunbathe every hour on the hour. groups will compete for the best spot to sunbathe, and sleep in the trees.
SCP-4526B are green-black fish creatures. their color-scheme and pattern appears similar to a watermelon, and their eyes appear serpent-like and a dead red. their dorsal fins are very long, and they are streamlined in shape. their underbellies are a light red. their teeth are curved back 180 degrees and are very sharp. their method of movement is Anguilliform locomotion. they can remain still in the deepest parts of the lake, where they are not visible. they are about the length of an american schoolbus. when they rest, they dig themselves down into the sand at the bottom of the river floor. when they are hungry, they slowly ascend to the top of the lake. when they are sustained, they descend back to the bottom of the lake. they are incapable of exiting the lake in any way whatsoever. SCP-4526B feed off of drinking SCP-4526D and are classified as keters.
SCP-4526C is a gaping hole in the ground, with no known end. the hole's edges are covered in serrated teeth, and the walls of the hole pulsate every thirty-or-so seconds. a deep moan can rarely be heard from the hole. there is only one known instance of SCP-4526C, and it has moved by unknown means 2 recorded times. it is now located several feet west of the tip of [REDACTED] river. rarely, it has been observed speaking in an unknown language, resembling a germanic tongue. it is unknown if SCP-4526C is an organism or a bizarre geological feature, as no safe means of collecting samples from it is present. when SCP-4526C detects anything, alive or otherwise, inside of it, a large, blood red tongue will arise from the depths of the hole and grab whatever is inside of it, dragging it back down to an unknown location. classified as keter.
SCP-4526D are deer-like creatures with horse-like hooves and horns rather than antlers. their eyes will always be orange or blue. it is unknown if this is a gender difference, as no living specimen of SCP-4526D has been recovered. their fur color is a light red, and they have a long tail. SCP-4526D appear to be solitary organisms, but when they contact eachother, they appear docile and friendly. their predators are SCP-4526C and SCP-4526B, and they feed off of the Rough Meadow-grass feilds. they are classified as relatively safe.
SCP-4526E are yellow-spotted vine-like organisms that descend from some of the trees in SCP-4526. their host tree will gain yellow spots hours after SCP-4526E begin to sprout. they have three to four serrated teeth and feed off of blood. they hiss like cats, and grow in pods of three per branch. any attempts to destroy instances of SCP-4526E result in instant death, or extreme damage to the individual. classified as keter. although it is rare, SCP-4526E can be decapitated or removed from their host tree, and do indeed die. thought to be related to SCP-4526C.
SCP-4526E1 are the hosts of SCP-4526E, and are like all other walnut trees within SCP-4526. they slowly retreat into a fetal position and gain yellow spots on their bark.
Instances of SCP-4526E and their host tree were contained and used on SCP-682. SCP-682 attempts to bite off SCP-4526E, and succeeds, although it suffers mysterious, bloody dents in it's back. SCP-682 recovered in 19 days. to quote SCP-682, "Dissapointing…"
professor Mari and a team of highly-trained proffessionals attempted to communicate with SCP-4526C on august 10th, 2017. their interactions are recorded below.
Professor Mari: hello? this is Professor Mari from the Secure, Contain, Protect foundation. we are here to communicate peacefully.
SCP-4526C: [low moan]
Professor Mari: what was that? sorry, could you speak up?
[SCP-4526C pulses.]
SCP-4526C: visitors are rare. most that enter don't exit.
Professor Mari: explain, if you will?
SCP-4526C: most that enter inevitably die, or go mad. the silence that sustains us that can remain for extended periods of time, well… if you aren't trained for it, it can make you yearn for something, anything to happen. they go insane, and either starve or kill themselves. i've seen more deaths than i've seen people, you could say.
Professor Mari: hmm. could you tell me about your origins? or this place's origins in general?
SCP-4526C: this place has existed for longer than any of you can fathom. I can only remember scarcely the words that recite the message as to the purpose of this realm. but, I am old, feeble, like one of your kind's elders. wise, but not good at remembering. why, if I had knees, the joints would be popping by now.
[Professor Mari smiles.]
SCP-4526C: have you brought me any morsals of food…
Professor Mari: They're bringing the meat back in three hours, I'll tell them to drop it into you.
SCP-4526C: might I make a request?
Professor Mari: hmm?
SCP-4526C: bring me wood, if you may.
[end log]
[later that week, Professor Mari brought SCP-4526C two logs of wood. the next day, Professor Mari had returned to find that SCP-4526C had fashioned the wood into a perfect octahedron. it is unknown why, or how, SCP-4526C managed to do this, as all security cameras were down at that moment. the wooden octahedron is now being studied.]
on december [REDACTED], 2018, SCP worker [REDACTED] was found inside SCP-4526 without permission at 3:25 AM. [REDACTED] was found staring down the shining waters of the lake. he sat motionless, and didn't speak a word. an instance of SCP-4526B ascended, staring at him, yet [REDACTED] did not move. SCP-4526B lunged towards him and devoured him, leaving only the legs exposed out of the mouth, before slowly descending and leaving the waters red. thus, as of january 1st, 2019, SCP-4526B has been updated from safe to keter.
