An image of the SCP-XXXX application in an active state.
Item Designation: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Any and all sites on which SCP-XXXX manifests are to be convinced that SCP-XXXX is a virus and needs to be removed. If Foundation personnel are incapable of doing this, they are to manually remove the instance of SCP-XXXX.
All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 at stage 0 are to be confiscated, destroyed, and then replaced.
Any instance of SCP-XXXX-1 at stage 2 or lower is to be confiscated and then placed in an anomalous object containment locker at Site-██. This locker is to be air sealed and not placed near any form of a power source.
Any building containing an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 at stage 3 or higher is to be evacuated and then locked down by Foundation personnel. Civilians are not to be allowed to enter this building until the instance of SCP-XXXX-1 can be safely removed. The instance of SCP-XXXX-1 may be removed when it has reached stage 7 in its development.
All instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are to be contained in standard anomalous humanoid containment cells at Site-██.
Description: SCP-XXXX takes the form of an application labeled "heart.exe". SCP-XXXX will manifest in places where digital applications may be downloaded, such as the Apple Play Store or the Microsoft Store. It will generally manifest once every five to twelve months. It is not clear who or what keeps repeatedly placing SCP-XXXX up for download, or how said person or thing manages to bypass the application verification test.
Upon being downloaded, SCP-XXXX will remain "dormant" until it is opened. Upon being installed, SCP-XXXX will become incapable of being uninstalled. If SCP-XXXX is opened, it will display a beating pixel heart bouncing off the edges of the screen, as well as binary code scrolling across the top of the screen. This binary code is yet to be decoded. Upon being opened, SCP-XXXX will no longer be able to be closed, and the device will no longer be able to be shut off. At this point, the SCP-XXXX process will begin. For a full log of this process, please see document XXXX-A.
SCP-XXXX-1 refers to any device that currently has an instance of SCP-XXXX installed.
SCP-XXXX-2 refers to the entities created by an instance of SCP-XXXX-1 upon reaching stage 7. These entities will begin as beings that resemble human fetuses with several digital components attached to them1. They will generally then mature within two to four weeks. Upon maturing, they will resemble human beings with extremely pale skin and no body hair, as well as lacking pupils or irises. They will retain many of their digital components. Instances of SCP-XXXX-2 will often suffer from mental illnesses and/or disproportionate/missing limbs and features, however, all instances of SCP-XXXX-2 are sapient.
