Special Containment Procedures:
The creation of a reliable method of observing SCP-XXXX is a class 6 priority. Coordinators for operation Open Veil are to be housed in an undisclosed location with SCP-XXXX-1 (Site Gamma) and given all resources necessary for continued research. Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, it is possible operation Open Veil will have to continue its work independent of the Foundation, all facilities dedicated to the project are self-sustaining for up to two years.
This file is not to be classified or edited and should be distributed to as many Foundation personal as possible. The Overseer council should be periodically monitored to ensure they retain knowledge of SCP-XXXX. Additional hard copies of this file are to be distributed to all Foundation facilities.
Foundation bot OPENVEIL is to monitor Foundation documentation for references to SCP-XXXX and report any attempts at deletion or revision. OPENVEIL works to prevent the deletion of digital documents as well to create new documentation on SCP-XXXX. The destruction of digital or physical documents is expected and Foundation efforts should focus on mass production.
SCP-XXXX-1 was housed in a standard humanoid containment cell until its relocation to Site Gamma. SCP-XXXX-1 has demonstrated no will to escape and has proven relatively cooperative with the Foundation. Containment should instead focus on preventing incursions and assassination attempts by other instances of SCP-XXXX. The exact methods deployed by Site Gamma to detect SCP-XXXX are not to be recorded. The Foundations BARRIER defense system has been marginally effective in detecting SCP-XXXX however it is believed the system is no longer reliable.
Update: Due to a previously unknown additional memetics anomaly information regarding the exact nature of SCP-XXXX physical appearance has been redacted.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a hypothetical race of unknown population that appears to inhabit all major continents. SCP-XXXX has an almost perfect camouflage and is heavily resistant to detection. Any additional information regarding the physical appearance of SCP-XXXX triggers a meme alerting the race to the reader's location.
Only a single instance of SCP-XXXX has been successfully contained (referred to as SCP-XXXX-1) the entity was heavily injured upon recovery. Multiple attempts have been made to breach SCP-XXXX-1 containment cell (see Incursion Events) leading the theorization of multiple instances of SCP-XXXX. Incursion events have grown more aggressive and now focus on the destruction of documentation regarding the existence of SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX is theorized to have amnestic technology.
Log of Incursion Events:
| Date | |
| 2017/12/05 | Occurred after interview with Aleksander Nowak (see recovery logs). Head researcher Dr F██████ reported no knowledge of the interview the following day. |
| 2017/12/14 | Agent G█████, responsible for retrieving Nowak was found suspended over his desk by janitorial staff. When staff entered his office his body was "dropped" onto the floor. A loaded gun was found on his desk. Foundation sites entered lock-down. |
| 2018/08/15 | Three names of researchers apparently assigned to SCP-XXXX were found on file. Families reported no knowledge of their existence. |
| 2019/01/12 | Seismic sensors triggered bellow SCP-XXXX-1 containment cell, no tunnel was found on the surface. Operation Open Veil initiated. |
| 2019/01/15 | Attack carried on a Site 21 where SCP-XXXX-1 was contained. First recorded large scale incursion event: 2:48 A.M: BARRIER defense system tripped, approximately 400 separate incursions. Site enters lock-down. Cameras and additional sensors unable to detect entities. 3:30 A.M: Seismic sensors tripped MTF Epsilon-11 ("Nine-Tailed Fox") deployed. 3:43 A.M: Aerial sensors tripped no aircraft spotted. Anti aircraft batteries engaged in a random pattern. 4:01 A.M: Guards in Keter containment block neutralized by unknown means. Epsilon-11 mobilize to SCP-XXXX-1 containment cell. 4:21 A.M: Epsilon-11 engages in random sporadic fire in an attempt to halt SCP-XXXX advance into the facility. 5:13 A.M: Overwatch authorizes the use of nerve agent B-43 in Site 21. 5:30 A.M: SCP-XXXX-1 remains in its cell and no further incursions detected, site remains on lock-down for 24 hours. |
| 2019/01/25 | First incursion into Foundation data center, attack gone unnoticed for 15 hours. Files restored and bot OPENVEIL created. |
| 2019/02/27 | Largest attack to date. Four Foundation data centers and Sites 21, 24, and 32 all responsible for SCP-XXXX research were attacked simultaneously. SCP-XXXX had been moved to Site Gamma and remained in containment. Personal in effected sites displayed no knowledge of the attack or SCP-XXXX. Complete loss of files prevented by bot OPENVEIL. |
Full Recovery Log:
On 2017/12/03 SCP-XXXX-1 was recovered by Foundation operatives in Eastern Poland. Aleksander Nowak, a former GOC agent, incapacitated the entity in his home and reported to the Foundation. Nowak was interviewed and administered Class-A amnestic. On GOC request Nowak remained on continued surveillance for one week, the BARRIER defense system was deployed around his household. On 17/12/14 BARRIER was tripped once, when Foundation personal investigated Aleksander and his daughter, Sarah Nowak, were found deceased in their houses. Alexanders house was found to display additional anomalous properties and MTF Epsilon-6 ("Village Idiots") were deployed to investigate.
Addendum:
SCP-XXXX-1 has refused to give any information regarding SCP-XXXX. Communication has been difficult due to SCP-XXXX-1 lack of █████████. SCP-XXXX-1 has made no attempt to escape Foundation custody and believes its camouflage ability is permanently damaged. The enclosed interview is the only one to provide marginally useful information.
LOG OPENVEIL BOT (TECHNICIANS ONLY):
The following log is maintained by the bot OPENVEIL. This document on numerous occasions has been deleted or edited without the involvement of the Foundation, a log of these instances is provided below. This log is live.
