A crowd awakes all in an amnesticized daze. Each person wearing a navy blue or grey jumpsuit and each looking very confused. Before the crowd sits an old television set on a cart. On the shelf below the TV is a basic VHS player nearly as old as the television set. Both the television set and VHS player were the boring and grainy grey colour as all those TV carts you'd see in school only this time something was different. Without warning the screen buzzed to life, filling the screen with static as white noise filled the room around them. The video cut to a plain and barren white room. White tiles, white walls, and a white ceiling. Inside this room at the centre was a chair. White and chipped metal framing with ripped and torn blue cushions. Sitting on that chair was a man. A pale caucasian scientist with brown hair and green eyes. He wore a purple shirt, a lab coat as white as the room, and a bright red tie that clashed with the rest of his garb. Resting against the chair beside him was a pitch black walking cane. The man cleared his throat before speaking in a slightly gravelly voice.
Greetings. You probably have a lot of questions. Some of you may be wondering "Where am I?"; "Who are you?"; "Who am I?"; "Where are you?"; "Why am I?"; "What am I?"; "Was that a gunshot?"; "Why is there an alarm in this video?". Well ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to be the first to say, Welcome to the Foundation. I am Doctor Deis and I shall be orientating you as the new janitorial staff.
You have been specially selected, either via our own level-0 janitorial staff, or the general populace as our new Level-1 janitorial service team. You finally get to learn about and work with the anomalies we contain. As for those who haven't worked here previously, you probably dont know who nor what the Foundation is.
Well, the SCP Foundation is an exra-governmental organization dedicated to the containment and study of the anomalous. Whether it be a highly dangerous creature you arent allowed to describe, or a statue that moves just to scare you, we keep them from harming humanity or normalcy. These anomalies are known as SCP's, and you get to work on them. Granted, by that I mean clean them or clean up after them.
You will be expected to clean things you could never expect to clean in a boring civilian environment. Things ranging from the mundane like blood, corpses, and fecal material, to more exciting and dangerous things like black slime that creates tentacles, to black slime that corrodes your body down to… well nothing… to even more black slime. A lot of it is nondescript black slime.
Anyways, to get on with it, you will each be given Level-1 keycards, as such they can only open doors in the hallways. This excludes things like barracks, heavy containment, and SCP containment chambers. Now let's see what else I need to cover. That should really be it now. Anything I've forgotten will probably be shown in another video but that's their fault for using me rather than one of the ethics committee liaisons. Oh yes, right. There is a handbook that you should all have been given detailing all this so refer to that.
Again, welcome to the Foundation. Have fun and remember, dont die. Once more, this has been Doctor Deis have a nice day. Oh and there is a predatory house cat somewhere so um… yeah avoid that and be careful on your way out.
