Item #: SCP-5000
Object Class: Keter Apollyon [See Addendum 5000-1]
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP-5000, it is impossible and will most likely remain that way for the coming years. The massive size of SCP-5000 was unpredictable and the Foundation will do all it can to prevent SCP-5000 from coming into contact with the Milky Way galaxy. It is crucial that no personnel view SCP-5000 at it's center mass, whether through a picture, camera, telescope, digital picture, or any other form of visual viewing of SCP-5000's center mass.
Description: SCP-5000 is an enormous entity of unknown origin and is estimated to be on the outskirts of the Messier 51a galaxy. It was originally thought to be the galaxy's black hole until SCP-5000 moved closer to a nearby galaxy. SCP-5000 is estimated to range from seven light-years to ten light-years in total length, while estimations for it's width range from one light-year to two light-years. Due to these estimations, it is safe to assume SCP-5000's general appearance is that of a snake or an eel. While the exact appearance of SCP-5000 can only be up to artist renditions, the Foundation has been able to note a few key features of SCP-5000. On what is assumed to be the head of SCP-5000, two long horns protrude out of the side of it's skull, these horns extend to an estimated distance of 4,000 astronomical units. Moving down to the jaws of SCP-5000, the observation team noted multiple teeth and hundreds of heat signatures when viewed with a thermal telescope.
Note: Despite being this massive, SCP-5000 exhibits no considerable heat. It is hypothesized that the creature has adapted to living in deep space.
SCP-5000 was discovered by a researcher looking at the Messier 51a galaxy, noting how the black hole for the galaxy had seemingly expanded in size by an impossible amount. The area was under constant surveillance and when SCP-5000 moved away from the center, the scale of SCP-5000 was quickly noted and submitted for further review.
Regarding SCP-5000's eating behavior, it has been documented that SCP-5000 uses galaxies and other large celestial bodies such as large stars as a source of nutrients. Despite consuming these large masses of heat, SCP-5000 remained at absolute zero temperatures.
Regarding the anomalous properties of SCP-5000, there are a few. For one, anybody viewing the center mass of SCP-5000 seems to undergo a cognitohazardous change that is also virulent. The infected individual will begin to repeatedly chant the phrase, "Aneleitos, Devourer of Worlds, Grant me Death", until the infected individual is forcibly terminated or is put into a comatose state. The virulent aspect of this infection is anomalous in it's own right, as it spread from an infected D-Class in an isolation chamber and Dr. █████████ had been infected with the virulent cognitohazard.
The second anomalous property of SCP-5000 is the entity's stomach. Research vessel IE-72-D was sent into deep space in hopes of either communicating with SCP-5000 or getting a clearer visual on the organism's appearance. However, after the vessel traveled with near light-speed technologies, SCP-5000 devoured the vessel with no hesitation. Despite Foundation efforts, research vessel IE-72-D was never communicated with again. The tools on-board the craft revealed that SCP-5000's body had reality tearing properties. With the video that could be recovered, SCP-5000's throat was lined in a sort of window to space. As soon as the vessel entered SCP-5000's throat, that is when the Foundation lost contact with the vessel.
Due to SCP-5000's cognitohazardous properties and the entity's snake-like or eel-like appearance, there is a chance the entity may be related to SCP-3000
Addendum 5000-1: During routine observation on March 2nd, 2019, SCP-5000 suddenly entered speeds that the entity had not shown before and had reappeared next to the Andromeda galaxy. It is unknown what suddenly changed SCP-5000's course. Due to the close proximity our own galaxy is to the Andromeda galaxy, SCP-5000's classification has been updated to Apollyon status.
Addendum 5000-2: Upon sending deep-space radio signals to SCP-5000, the entity seemed to be able to understand the radio signals and send them back. The Foundation were able to start an interview with SCP-5000. [See Interview 5000-1]
Interview 5000-1:
Interviewed: SCP-5000
Interviewer: Dr. ███████Foreword: SCP-5000 establishes contact with Foundation personnel through deep-space radio transmissions and reach SCP-5000 through the M.E.R.C.Y. satellite orbiting Earth which have the fastest radio waves the Foundation could muster.
<Begin Log, 05:13 AM
Dr. ███████: Hello, my name is Doctor ███████, what should I call you?
SCP-5000: Aneleitos.
Dr. ███████: Alright, Aneleitos, what is your purpose for being so close to Earth?
SCP-5000: Consume. Give. Replicate. Repeat.
Dr. ███████: You mention give? Give to who?
SCP-5000: Give. Father. Food.
Dr. ███████: You have a father? What is his name?
SCP-5000: No. Name. He is…everywhere.
Dr. ███████: How old are you, Aneleitos?
SCP-5000: Age…not…a thing, for me. Time is…irrelevant. The universe is…tasty…
Dr. ███████: I see…Do you have any relation to SCP-3000? If you know who we are, that is.
SCP-5000: I have consumed…thousands of you…Millions of worlds…All given to Father…My world is….different….Yours is…pretty….I want to eat it all….
Dr. ███████: I think we're done here, Anelei-
SCP-5000: [SCP-5000 produces a high-pitched screeching sound that caused Dr. ███████'s body to rapidly mutate and undergo a transformation that fuses their legs and arms into a part of their body.]<End Log, 06:23 AM>
Closing Statement: SCP-5000 remained unresponsive to further radio emissions. Biological effects noted.
