Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
One of the cards found after incident F-065.
Containment Procedures: The web and other media must periodically be scanned for mentions of card games with properties resembling SCP-XXXX. Instances of SCP-XXXX appearing in the wild are to be confiscated immediately. If subjects that came into contact with instances of SCP-XXXX have never attempted to play with the cards and are not aware of their anomalous properties, no amnestics need to be administered. Otherwise amnestics are to administered on a case-by-case basis.
SCP-XXXX instances in Foundation custody are to be held in a safe vault at facility 8328.
Description: SCP-XXXX instances are boxes of a game called "1000 blank white cards". New instances of SCP-XXXX appear periodically in retail. Shop owners never remember stocking the boxes. The new instances appear with no discernible temporal or local pattern.
Each box contains 1001 cards, with one card having rules printed on it and the other cards being entirely blank. The rule card has the following text printed on it:
- Make your own cards!
- To make a new card, take a blank card and write a title and a text on it.
- Once you think you have enough cards, the game can start!
- Cards made after this point have no effect.
- Each turn you draw a card and play it.
- Play until the game ends. - Have fun! :)
When players decide to start playing the game, the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX are triggered. From this point until the game is finished, verbally quitting the game, walking away from the game, or violating the rules will result in the offending player's immediate death.
When a card is played that contains an instruction, the player has a time span of varying length to follow the instruction (usually not more than a minute, but the length seems to vary unpredictably). If the instruction is not followed, the player dies.
When a card is played that describes an event, said event will happen. It is currently not known if this card effect has limits. Experiments have shown that cards are able to cause events such as the immediate death of people over 3,000 km removed from the players, the eruption of a volcano within a time span of 5 minutes, and [expunged]. Further experimenting has been disallowed following order O-28812.
The game ends if a card says so, or if all players are dead. Other ways to end the game, if any exist, are not known.
