Time altering conversations.
Classification: Euclid.
Containment Procedures: TBD
Description: SCP-XXXX is a short american man with shaggy blonde hair. SCP-XXXX’s anomaly is difficult to observe, and only happens when a person or person's engages SCP-XXXX in conversation. Upon communicating with SCP-XXXX in any way (see TBD ) SCP-XXXX is able to perceive alternate timelines relating to the conversation. If SCP-XXXX chooses to do so, it can alter the timeline by changing their speech to match that of an alternate timeline. SCP-XXXX normally decides against changing the timeline, as the alternate realities it sees are usually unpleasant. Although SCP-XXXX can be persuaded to change the timeline (see Mock Interview), and sometimes will change the timeline by mistake.
Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX’s anomaly, it tends to be apprehensive towards conversations. The vast number of alternative scenarios that run through it’s mind can cause SCP-XXXX receive headaches, paranoia, and on rare occasions mild psychosis. (see TBD)
Recovery: SCP-XXXX was recovered by Agent-* from a Vegas casino. SCP-XXXX was in a state of paranoia when Agent-* approached it. Upon speaking to SCP-XXXX, Agent-* had appeared to calm it down. However, after a few more minutes of conversation, SCP-XXXX became panicked, and questioned Agent-* about his involvement with the foundation, and brought up [REDACTED]. This prompted Agent-* to apprehend SCP-XXXX, and bring it in for questioning.
Mock Interview:
Interviewer: How do you know about [REDACTED], SCP-XXXX?
SCP-XXXX: I’m not entirely sure… I saw myself discussing it. I just wanted to ask about it.
Interviewer: What do you mean “saw yourself?”
SCP-XXXX: Another version of me. Somewhere else.
Interviewer: Somewhere else? Can you elaborate?
SCP-XXXX: I uh-…. No, I’d rather not.
Interviewer: Why not, SCP-XXXX?
SCP-XXXX: I don’t like the outcome… You wouldn’t like it either.
Interviewer: What do you mean?
SCP-XXXX: If I try to explain it…Then something will happen, that I’d rather not have happen, and if I tell you what’s going to happen, it’ll also happen.
Interviewer: Is that a threat, SCP-XXXX?
SCP-XXXX: No! Look… I’m trying to help you, really. Can we just move on?
Interviewer: SCP-XXXX, if you are unwilling to cooperate we’ll simply have to conduct this interview at another time. Perhaps after some disciplinary action. I have a lot of things to do today, and I’d rather not waste my time.
SCP-XXXX: Ugh… Okay. Fine, I’ll try and explain… I saw a different me, talking about [REDACTED] in another timeline. I was already a little out of it. The confusion and paranoia I was feeling just caused me to bring it up.
Interviewer: Another timeline you say? Does this mean you can look into other realities?
SCP-XXXX: Uh… Kinda? I know what’ll happen if I say certain things. Often it’s things I wouldn’t normally say. It hurts my head sometimes. All these possibilities, just…Floating around my mind…
Interviewer: So your refusal to comply earlier had something to do with this I assume?
SCP-XXXX: Right… I didn’t want to… I changed something by telling you all this… I shouldn’t have… If I didn’t know what would happen, I wouldn’t have… Oh god, I’m so sorry… I wish I had just said something else.
Interviewer: Calm down, SCP-XXXX. What’s going on? What are you so nervous about?
SCP-XXXX: No! I can’t tell you, it’ll make things worse. Please, I’ve done enough
Interviewer: Alright then SCP-XXXX. We’ll escort you back to your cell. Thank you for your cooperation.
That night while on his way back home, the interviewer was rear ended at a red light, and is currently in the hospital under a medically induced coma.
