Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: The object has had it's "eyes" covered with electrical tape by blindfolded personnel, and has been stored in a combination lock briefcase in an, as of yet, anonymous researcher's office. Inquiries to the identity of said researcher must be handled by Site Director Landsness. (see Addendum XXXX-A)

Description: SCP-XXXX is a plastic "Tiki" style party prop object produced by "██████████" in Japan. It has yellow circles painted around its eyes and mouth, with wide vertical dark blue stripes painted across its face. The eyes of the object has black sclerae and yellow circles for pupils, and the object has been molded with a wood-like texture across its face with an angry expression. The plastic itself is red-brown in color. The object also contains a small internal magnetic toy speaker.

When a human looks directly into one of the eyes of the object, their eyeballs orientation will be affixed in such a manner that the pupils permanently point towards the current location of the eye, effectively locking the subject in constant eye contact with the object; any attempt to assist affected subjects in breaking eye contact have met with either failure or injury. To further elaborate; if the affected subject turns around 360° it would cause their eyes to rotate far enough for the optical nerves to either tear off or cause a variety of other intraocular and extraocular injuries, including but not limited to; extraocular muscle contusions and fractures, retinal tears, retinal detachments and even vitreous hemorrhages, should the optical nerves get caught around the eyeballs. This anomalous effect ceases only if the eyeballs themselves is completely disconnected from the rest of the body or if the subject expires. It should be noted that only the orientation and not the position of the subjects eyeballs are affected. It should also be noted that its anomalous properties does not carry over to recordings, live video feeds or photographs.

When the switch on the back of the object is switched to "オン" (ON), the speaker will emit a five (5) second loop of a Hawaiian style jingle. The speaker and the mask itself are in excellent condition, with little to no signs of deterioration.

Addendum XXXX-A: The haunting appearance of the mask causes a person to naturally react by looking into its eyes if startled by it; this has inspired some personnel to abuse the object for malicious pranks; Special containment procedures has been updated in response to this issue.

Note from Site Director Landsness: These types of shenanigans are beyond obscene. If any personnel is seen abusing the object, they will be terminated without hesitation. We cannot afford handicapping valuable staff. Sometimes I wish I could lock those pranksters in briefcase as well
