ISSUING MEMETIC KILL AGENT…
MEMETIC KILL AGENT ISSUED.
Hello, D-Class. You are currently working on site ██ in Virginia. This document is to educate and inform you of what jobs and SCPs you will be required to work with.
Your designated ID will be: D-3521
Your occupations will consist of the following: Cafeteria Chef, Containment Chamber Work, Janitor and Document Censorship.
The following is a set of documents recording important information about the SCPs contained in site ██. Be sure to keep this paper, as if you lose one, you will not be given another. Breaking of any containment protocals will result in immediate termination by MTF.
Item #: SCP-5197
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5197 is to be contained in a room with 7 inch-thick walls made of graphene. All personnel are required to complete a checklist of symptoms of depression before entering site ██. Personnel with a score of 3 or lower are allowed to enter, while any personnel with a score of 4 or higher are not permitted to enter under any means. While in SCP-5197's containment room, all personnel are required to wear a special graphene suit.
Description: SCP-5197 Is an anomalous Smith & Wesson 686 revolver with an elongated barrel. SCP-5197 is made entirely of copper, except for the wooden handle. The barrel and handle of SCP-5197 have two small scratches. The manufacturer is noted as "Goodyear Gun Mettle Co.". After a brief search, it was found that Goodyear Gun Mettle Co. is a now defunct gun producing company. SCP-5197 does not exhibit anomalous properties unless any individuals [Who do not have the proper defenses] are within a mile radius. When within this radius, SCP-5197 will teleport to the room or general area that the individual, who is now designated SCP-5197A, is in. SCP-5197's teleportation property is normally instantaneous, but it is slowed when travelling through limestone or granite, and comes to a halt when trying to teleport through graphene. SCP-5197 never runs out of ammo. It's bullets are designated instances of SCP-5197B.
If the instance of SCP-5197A was not previously experiencing symptoms of depression within the past 15 days, they will be unaffected by SCP-5197 aside from a mild itching. The individual is no longer designated SCP-5197A in this case. If the instance is or was depressed within the last 15 days before exposure to SCP-5197, SCP-5197A will begin to exhibit symptoms like crying, attempted self-harm, hostility, slowness, muscle pain, decrease in consciousness and intelligence. In 56% of case studies, SCP-5197A will attempt to shoot themselves in the brain or the heart using SCP-5197. When it is attempted to restrain SCP-5197A from SCP-5197, SCP-5197A will attempt to harm themselves vigorously and show hostility towards the individual restraining them. These symptoms will remain until the individual dies or is fed normally lethal doses of citalopram [Also known as Celexa].
SCP-5197 is filled with approximately 9 instances SCP-5197B despite SCP-5197 appearing to only be able to hold 6 rounds. SCP-5197B are 50 caliber bullets that automatically teleport back into SCP-5197 after making contact with flesh. It is unknown how SCP-5197B can fit inside SCP-5197, since SCP-5197 appears to physically only be able to contain bullets less than .357 inches in diameter. After coming in contact with any fleshy material, said material will explode with great force.
Experiment log 5197-1
Date: ██-██-20██
Subject: SCP-5197
Procedure: Dr. Mikael Acevedo and a group of other highly-trained personnel brought SCP-5197 and D-6556, who was confirmed to have several symptoms of depression, into a large enclosure.
Recorded Transcript:
[Dr. Acevedo and Personnel D-6556 sit on different sides of a wooden table.]
Dr. Acevedo: Hello, 6556. How are you doing today?
Personnel D-6556: I'm (Incomprehensible).
Dr. Acevedo: We have the evidence to believe that you are going through symptoms of Depression, correct?
[Personnel D-6556 shuffles uncomfortably in his seat.]
Dr. Acevedo: Please answer the question.
Personnel D-6556: Yes.
[Dr. Acevedo places SCP-5197 on the desk.]
Dr. Acevado: Please wait until you feel anything unusual and notify us.
[5 minutes pass, with few communications between Dr. Acevedo and high-class personnel in between.]
[Personnel D-6556 begins to itch at his skin, a known effect SCP-5197 has on its victims. Personnel D-6556 is now considered SCP-5197A.]
Personnel D-6556: Can I have that gun?
Dr. Acevado: Access denied, you are not allowed to hold SCP-5197.
Personnel D-6556: I said give me the gun.
Dr. Acevado: You are not allowed to hold the gun.
[Personnel D-6556 attempts to jump across the desk and grabs SCP-5197.]
Personnel D-6556: (Shouting) My gun!
[Personnel D-6556 attempts to shoot Dr. Acevedo and multiple high-class personnel.]
[Personnel D-6556 shoots multiple high-class personnel and then briefly laughs before shooting himself in the head. A total of ██ casualties were confirmed.]
High-class personnel member: Jesus christ.
Dr. Acevado: End log.
[Tissue samples of SCP-5197A, previously known as Personnel D-6556, were taken. The place of impact with SCP-5197B was covered in a thin sheet of azidoazide azide, a highly explosive chemical compound. Body was disposed of via ████ to avoid the corpse spontaneously exploding.]
The following is a recorded transcript of the initial discovery of SCP-5197, recorded by the SFADT [SCP First Action Discovery Team]. The team consisted of SFADT Leader, SFADT Medic, SFADT Artillery 1, SFADT Artillery 2, and Command. Transcript took place at the source of the initial distress call in ████, Canada.
Command: alright, Leader. Permission to enter the shed.
[Leader breaks down the door as Artillery 1 and 2 raise their guns. Medic stays close behind Leader.]
[Leader’s head cam shows what appears to be an abandoned, rotten lobby, with two bodies visible.]
Leader: Appears to be devoid of all life.
Artillery 1: Certainly a lot of bodies, though.
Command: Can you please describe the room to your best ability?
Leader: There’s some furniture flipped over, a lot of blood on the ground. About 5 or 6 bodies -
[Leader signals the rest of the team to stay, and goes to inspect the bodies.]
Leader: They all have gunshots on their head or chest.
Command: Noted. Please continue.
[The team continues down the hall, finding a total of ██ bodies before there is a shuffle off camera.]
[Artillery 1 and 2 raise their shotguns, while Leader pulls out their pocket pistol and aims at where the sound came from.]
Command: Did any of you see the sound’s source?
Medic: Fucking hideous. It looked like a human boiled in acid.
Artillery 2: Can confirm.
Command: Noted. Continue evaluating the area until you find anything else unusual.
[The team continues to explore the building, circling around and finding 2 more bodies (A total of ██), until they reach the entrance again.
Leader: We found ██ bodies. They all had gunshots in their chests or heads.
Command: Noted. Now, go and check inside the shed for any unusual findings.
[Leader, Medic and Artillery 1 begin to move toward the shed, while Artillery 2 remains motionless.]
Medic: What’s wrong with you, Artillery 2? Get moving!
[Artillery 2 begins to sob.]
Leader: Hey, man, I know you’re depressed, but you’re on the job-
[Before the rest of the team could react, Artillery 2 attempts to run into the shed before being restrained by Artillery 1. Artillery 2 is now considered an instance of SCP-5197A.]
Artillery 1: What the hell is wrong with you, man? Wait for Leader!
Artillery 2: [Shouting] Let go of me, bastard!
[Artillery 2 escapes Artillery 1’s grasp, and runs past Medic and Leader into the shed.]
[Artillery 2 can be heard laughing before shooting himself in the head with SCP-5197.]
Command: Go and check if Artillery 2 is alive, immediately.
[Medic, Leader and Artillery 1 go into the shed. Leader’s head cam shows Artillery 2’s head has exploded on the contact point with SCP-5197B. Medic checks Artillery 2’s vitals.]
Medic: He’s dead.
[Leader bends down to grab the gun that Artillery 2 shot himself with. He puts SCP-5197 into a bag for later examination.]
[Artillery 1 shouts a profanity in German.]
Artillery 1: Look out!
[Leader’s head cam turns to show a bulky canadian man with rotted molten skin and multiple gunshot wounds on his head and chest. His jaw appears to be missing, most likely blown off. The unknown individual (Who will now be referred to as SCP-5197C) lunges at Medic before Artillery 1 blocks the creature using his shotgun as a shield.]
Artillery 1: Get (Pause) back (Pause) you (Pause) fuck!
[Artillery 1 shoves SCP-5197C to the ground, shooting him. SCP-5197C appears to be unaffected.]
[SCP-5197C swings his hands around, knocking over Medic. SCP-5197C proceeds to ██████████ Medic into ████, killing him in the process.]
Command: Leader, do you repeat, Leader?
[Leader runs over to SCP-5197C, shouting profanities, and stomps his head in.]
Leader: Medic and Artillery 2 are dead, but the unknown individual has been eliminated.
Command: Alright. Collect samples from the body and you’ll be able to return.
[It is unknown how, when or where SCP-5197C came to be, but it is assumed he was somehow immune to SCP-5197’s bullets. Nothing about SCP-5197C is known except for the fact that it appeared vaguely similar to a man named █████ Watkins, who was missing since Goodyear Gun Mettle Co. went out of business.]
After an extensive search, the suspected founder of Gun Mettle Co. was found in ████, Canada. The following is a transcript log between Dr. ████ and suspected Goodyear Gun Mettle Co. founder, Mr. Goodyear.
[Mr. Goodyear is sat down at a desk along with Dr. ████.]
Dr. ████: Hello, Mr. Goodyear.
Mr. Goodyear: Hello. Why have you brought me here anyways?
Dr. ████: We have reason to believe that you are the founder of the now shut down company Goodyear Gun Mettle Co.
[Mr. Goodyear hesitates.]
Mr. Goodyear: Yes. Why do you ask?
[Dr. ████ places SCP-5197 on the desk.]
Dr. ████: Would you happen to know anything about this gun?
Mr. Goodyear: [Audibly uncomfortable] Y-yes. What would you like to know?
Dr. ████: Are you aware of it’s anomalous properties?
Mr. Goodyear: I’m aware of the effect it has.
Dr. ████: Are you aware of the origins of the gun?
Mr. Goodyear: We found it in some spare storage 2 days before we went bankrupt. We were gonna market it as a rare novelty item. You know, for the big bucks. Watkins took it home the night we found it, though, which I found odd. I knew he was going through some stuff, but I didn’t say anything. I decided to visit him the next day to check in on him, make sure he was ok.
[Mr. Goodyear pauses.]
Dr. ████: Continue.
Mr. Goodyear: It was him and the other ██ workers we had. They were all standing in a circle. Some of them were dead, all shot in the heart or the chest. Others were just standing there, unnaturally smiling. And Watkins… he looked like he was boiled alive. Half dead. For god sakes, his jaw was torn off! He just shot everyone else in the circle. It was a fucked up mass suicide. And then he turned to look at me. In a voice I never heard before, he just said, “Better wake up before you can’t anymore.”
[Mr. Goodyear sheds a single tear before composing himself once more.]
Mr. Goodyear: After that, I bolted out of there, and tried to forget about the incident the best I could. Alas, here we are.
Dr. ████: Alright, thank you for your time.
Mr. Goodyear: Could you do me a favor?
[Dr. ████ pauses.]
Mr. Goodyear: Destroy that thing. Destroy it and all it’s powers.
[End log.]
[After this log was looked over, several connections were made: Watkins and Goodyear are ex-owners of Goodyear Gun Mettle Co. The true origins of SCP-5197 are unknown, but they were found in storage. Watkins is believed to be SCP-5197C from the SFADT expedition. The location that the SFADT team went to was Watkin’s house, and all of the corpses were ex-Goodyear Gun Mettle Co. workers. It is still unknown why Watkins was immune to SCP-5197B.]
Dr. ████ is no longer allowed near SCP-5197's containment chamber, as he has been spotted attempting to dispose of SCP-5197. All of his attempts were unsuccessful, and the only damage done to SCP-5197 was a chipped barrel.
Remember, our job is to Secure, Contain, and Protect. No more, no less.
