Special Containment Procedures: Due to the effects of SCP-5000, all samples must be handled carefully while wearing biohazard suits. Samples of SCP-5000 are held in sealed containers in Bio Research Lab 8076 for research.
Should anyone exhibit symptoms from SCP-5000 must be either incapacitated or terminated. Containment of SCP-5000-1 instances must be done with gunfire and are mandatory. Containment is to be considered a delta-level priority. Termination of SCP-5000-1 instances must be done with flamethrowers acting as a main termination weapon against all SCP-5000-1 instances.
All instances of SCP-5000-1 are contained in 8x8m titanium-reinforced containment cells. Cells are to be check for any signs of damage.
If any SCP-5000 samples or any SCP-5000-1 instance should breach containment, Protocol 5000-Redaction is to be in effect.
Protocol 5000-Redaction: If SCP-5000 or any SCP-5000-1 instance breach containment, Site-87 is to be under severe lockdown and the wing in which SCP-5000 or SCP-5000-1 is currently in is to be sealed off. Any vents going into the sealed wing must be sealed off as well. Bio Research Lab 8076 is also to be sealed off to prevent samples of the SCP-5000 contagion or SCP-5000-1 instances from breaching containment. Site is to be held like this until containment teams contain the SCP-5000 contagion or the SCP-5000-1 instance.
Description: SCP-5000 is a complex, extraterrestrial contagion from Andromeda's Corrosite Star System, which all samples are contained in Research Bio Lab 8076 on Site-87. SCP-5000 is rapidly evolving to prevent a cure from being made. SCP-5000 spreads by air or by bodily fluids. Once inside the body, SCP-5000 will manipulate the host’s (designated SCP-5000-1) immune system. Special white blood cells are produced and proceed to kill off as many red blood cells. SCP-5000 then goes to SCP-5000-1’s brain to take control. Current traits of SCP-5000 include:
- 100% infectivity
- 100% lethality
- Airborne contagion
- Corruption
- Can spread from person to person via bodily fluids
Symptoms of the SCP-5000 contagion manifest as soon as the contagion is in the subject’s bloodstream and include:
- Very high fever (usually at 130°F)
- Purple spores on the arms and legs
- Decrease in red blood cells
- Production of “corrupted” white blood cells
- Increase in muscular strength and speed
- Slow regeneration
- Black veins appearing on subject
- Reduction in sanity
Anyone infected by SCP-5000 (designated SCP-5000-1) become extremely hostile and will attack when someone is spotted. These instances show immense strength and will break through any element except titanium. Due to the speed of the SCP-5000-1 instances, containment is extremely difficult.
