Special Containment Procedures:
Due to the number of incidents retired agents and operatives are placed in small towns to monitor the night sky with telescopes, they will spend the rest of their lives there with their family members, if an incident is hypothesized to happen a warning will be issued of a heavy storm or similar natural phenomena, and citizens are advised to close and lock their windows and doors.
If a citizen has an encounter with SCP XXXX and survives they are taken into custody for study.

Description:
SCP - XXXX are large thin humanoid arms multiple miles long that ascend into the sky, the arms themselves are thin for their proportions being between around 18 inches wide with large hands on the ends, each hand has 5 large fingers varying between 2 to 3 feet in length and only a few inches in diameter, the fingers are noticeably thin with easily definable bones within. They also lack fingernails and fingerprints, the arms themselves have similar DNA to that of humans. The arms do not appear to connect to any mass, they seemingly descend from the night sky above small villages towns, and isolated homes/dwellings all across the world. They are also incredibly resilient to harm and only bullets appear to pierce their flesh, if damaged the Instances will quickly retreat into the sky.
The arms hunt for people of any age, gender, preferably people below the age of 30 with a higher chance of abduction when living alone. They abduct people by slowly and quietly entering into houses through doors, windows, and chimneys at night to grab people, pick them up, before rapidly ascending into the night sky, however, they will (rather uncommonly) take people from vehicles such as motorcycles and cars or even take 'prey' when they are out in public areas, if isolated enough. The Arms sometimes come down alone or in packs of a dozen or so depending on the size of the town. It will only attempt to grab victims a few times before escaping back into the sky if evaded, however, SCP - XXXX will return multiple times to attempt to grab its victim over a course of multiple days or months, but if there is a serious threat to it, it will wait until the threat ceases before attempting again, after 5-10 times it will commonly give up entirely.
There are some warnings of when they are about to arrive which can be detected days in advance, the most common being lack of stars at night, before an incident it's recorded that more and more stars appear to disappear each night leading up to the incident before there are none besides the moon. However, some will appear to stalk their victims, the most common being large objects seen in different locations, open windows/doors, or even missing certain items, like wind chimes or animals.
More extreme cases happening on farms. If your farm is somewhat isolated and you have been targeted by an instance of SCP XXXX, farmers will probably notice large animals such as cows/horses/pigs/sheep, etc will disappear, for days at a time, afterward sometimes they will appear to materialize in the air and probably fall to their death. Those of them that are killed before being dropped have large rips/slashes in their flesh, unlike humans who are never returned.
Tests:
Test-01-01: An event appeared to be occurring in the small city of Butte Montana on 9/18/20, the first large scale event, the MTF squad "Epsilon-6" is dispatched to the city to set up multiple tests meanwhile the alert is sent out, D Class Personnel are put in hotels across the city with a radio and camera attached to them, after 3 days of trying D class personnel 29312 sees an instance of SCP XXXX and flips a switch indicating an instance of SCP - XXXX has entered his room, after 15 minutes he is grabbed and quickly pulled into the sky, the video shows his ascent for 4.3 seconds before it cuts out, no radio contact with this personnel has occurred since, after more failures, the tests were concluded.
Test-02: An event was detected in rural Japan at 3 am, MTF Epsilon-6 was dispatched to the location and were instructed to set up multiple dummies with bombs strapped to them meanwhile an alert went out to the town to shut and lock their windows and doors, after over a week no activity was detected but an elderly man went missing sometime during the night on the final test. The test was done 3 more times around the world with no results.
Test-03: After a pick up in the realization of just how severe these events are a large scale test to figure out what these things are is initiated, in southern Belarus, a small town is constructed, titled site XXXX-9-SN, its population is 250 D-Class and 100 MTF (20 MTF Lambda-4 and 80 standard MTF) and 20 researchers, the first test for this large scale operation was to capture or restrain one of the instances of SCP XXXX, titled "Operation Handshake", in the operation a single D class would be placed at the bottom of a very large underground silo going 50 meters into the ground with a diameter of 45 inches, with large metal rods protruding along the outside acting as anchors in the surrounding soil, the silo would be placed at a 30 angle with the base of it having a small room and a bed for the D-Class.
Along the interior of the silo would be 200 3 inches (diameter) wire ropes fitted into notches on the inside of the silo, in a lasso type configuration, upon command the ropes would tighten simultaneously with 200 pounds of force, the idea of the test was to constrain and trap one of the instances for study. After almost a month of waiting for an event was detected to begin occurring, four days later an arm was seen descending down the silo reaching for the D-Class after it reached the end of the tube all the wires tightened and the arm stopped and remained motionless momentarily before suddenly with great force it pulled back ripping the entire silo from the ground before it too shattered and fell to the earth from a few hundred feet up, the instance then rose with great speed back into the sky, being followed by powerful spotlights before receding out of range of them. No one was hurt.
Test-04-W: After visual study through photographs and video feeds it was concluded that instances of SCP XXXX are organic in nature, a test was set up at site XXXX-9-SN where an instance of SCP XXXX was to be exposed to 1.5 grams of SCP-409. On 2/7/21 an event was detected to be occurring in New Mexico, after some setup with multiple D-class personnel placed around the town in different accommodations, D-8027 reported that an Instance of SCP XXXX was opening the front door. As instructed D-8027 removed the piece of SCP-409 with tweezers and gloves, after 15 minutes of waiting the Instance of SCP XXXX finally made it to the small room where the D-Class was waiting. The D-Class put SCP-409 directly to SCP-XXXX's 'skin' causing the crystallization effect to occur. The hand visibly recoiled and the Instance raised back into the sky. 6 months later a large amount of SCP-409 was seen plummeting from the sky over site 83 in northern Wales. After a hasty cleanup, it was recorded 307 tons of SCP-409 were recovered with 23 deaths of personnel.
Test-05-MTK: site XXXX-9-SN, a test is set up with 10 D-Class placed into separate rooms placed around the site,

Addendum XXXX.1: Discovery
Agent [REDACTED] was on a vacation in the town of Izvoarele in Romania with a friend staying in a small two-bed motel room on the second floor, he's an astronomer who works with the foundation to document SCP. At about midnight on 7/9/17, he notices a lack of stars, passing this off as clouds he goes back to bed, over the following 4 nights he notices a higher and higher occurrence of this phenomena even though 30 minutes prior he saw a cloudless sky. On 7/15/17 there were no stars and it was incredibly quiet, he makes a note of this and informs the foundation that there might be some phenomena related to an SCP of sorts and goes to bed, he awakens to a cool breeze blowing in, reaches to turn on the light, and feels this mass hovering inches above him, he tries to push on it but it doesn't budge, he turns on the light to reveal a massive slender arm reaching in from the open sliding door, he turns left and sees very large fingers begin to wrap around his friend, he shouted for his friend and as soon as he does the arms grip tightens around him and the entire mattress before flying out of the room at incredible speeds and disappearing into the darkness of the night sky. He documents and informs the Foundation and is flown out of the country back to the United States and got tested on his mental health. Three months later he is found missing from his home in Kansas.
