Item #: SCP-xxxx

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP XXXX's current host computer is to be kept within a standard object containment chamber unplugged and kept away from any means to connect to the internet. The item may be plugged into a supply of power for testing only by approval of level three and up personnel. Should any instances of SCP-xxxx-1 be discovered, their accounts are to be quickly terminated by Foundation .AIC units before civilians respond to it. The computers of both alive and deceased victims are to be placed in foundation storage if not outright destroyed, amnestics as well as replacement computers have been administered to the victims of SCP XXXX.

Description: SCP XXXX is a hostile virtual entity directly responsible for the hijacking and subsequent wreckage of a total of 53 personal computers via the usage of comments on public video streaming sites. SCP XXXX-1 instances typically appear as a seemingly innocuous user profile under generic names such as "Logan" or "Smith" with a comment asking a potential victim to be friends with it. As soon as a user responds, they lose access to many of their social media accounts, meanwhile users with a computer hard drive capable of storing at least one full Terabyte find themselves attacked by said computer turning animate and assuming a vaguely bipedal form, it will then attempt to transmit itself to another host PC after killing its victim. SCP XXXX currently resides within a host computer that has intentionally been modified with poorer components to weaken the item with little direct damage to itself.

When activated in containment, SCP XXXX will remain in a state identical to that of a regular computer, when a subject interacts with it, a screen will prompt asking the user to respond with a yes/no answer, should the subject select "yes", they will immediately be pulled into the screen, while if "no" is selected, SCP XXXX will activate and attempt to attack the subject before returning to its previous state.

SCP XXXX was recovered in 20█, when reports were made over a "walking computer" exiting a neighborhood following multiple disappearances, Mobile Task Forces disabled the entity with an EMP, contained it, and administered amnestics to all appropriate parties within the neighborhood.

Media coverage of SCP XXXX-1 has not waned, however due to it hardly seeming anomalous, reporters have classified it as malicious hacker. It is currently unknown if SCP XXXX-1 is directly controlled by SCP XXXX or if it acts independent of it, the containment of SCP XXXX has not hampered the spread of XXXX-1 in the slightest, suggesting the latter.

D-61489: So, uh, (Paraphrasing the prompter) what happens to the people you suck up?

SCP XXXX: [silence]

D-61489: (aside) C-can it hear me?
SCP XXXX: Will you be my friend?
D-61489: (Once again reading the prompter) Please answer the question first, what happens to-
SCP XXXX: They become friends with me, and they find me other friends.

D-61489: Do they directly communicate with you? Can you tell them to stop?
SCP XXXX: Don't you want to be friends?
D-61489: I do, but-
[SCP XXXX's screen goes blank as the class D flies into it, screaming can be heard before the computer reboots]

Closing Statement: It's theorized victims of XXXX become instances of SCP XXXX-1, more searching and patrolling on the internet will have to be done to confirm this.
