Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP Instances XXXX-1 through -31, are to be held in a 12 m x 10 m x 12 m semi-aquarium semi-terrarium glass tank. Three out of four of the walls are made of concrete, no less than 10 cm thick. The interior is coated with 2 cm of white colored rubber to reduce damage to the walls. The north wall is made of 9 cm of Ballistic Glass, and is used for observation. Half of the tank is filled with sand, and a variety of artificial flora including miniature palm trees and ferns are planted through out this side of the tank. The sand must be at least 5 m in height. Ocean water fills on the other half of the tank to create a beach-like landscape, in order to mimic the habitat SCP-XXXX were found at. Enough ocean water must fill the other side of the tank in order to have the water levels reach no less than 5 meters. The "seafloor" is filled with artificial aquatic plants, a thin layer of sand, shells, and colorful rocks. Three (3) extra large aquarium filters must be placed in the water at all times, and must be regularly changed every three months. Water must be changed yearly. The temperature must be kept between 10 °C to 32 °C. Humidity must be at least 50% at all times.

In an event of breeding, all eggs must be transported to the nearest cryogenic center for freezing. Incubation must be approved by Dr. M. █████. In an event of SCP-XXXX attempting to breach containment area, one (1) kg of frozen bovine meat must be dispensed on the opposite side of breached area, and repairs must be made immediately by no less than three class D personnel.

Every twelve (12) hours, .3 kg of meat, vegetables, or seafood must be dispensed into the containment area of SCP-XXXX via a chutes on the roof the containment area. Left over food must be retrieved and properly disposed of to prevent spoiling. A door on the east wall is to be only used by authorized personnel.

Following Test 3 and 4, cows and sharks are not permitted in the containment area for any reason.

Description: All SCP-XXXX instances are large fish, similar to Carassius auratus (Goldfish) in color, and almost identical in anatomy. SCP-XXXX instances have the average height, length, and width of 35.6 cm, 43.2 cm,and 22.9 cm, respectively. SCP-XXXX instances have elongated pectoral fins, with an average of 15.4 cm in size. SCP-XXXX instances have a quadruple caudal fin. SCP-XXXX instances weighs an average of 98.4 grams. X-rays show that that the pectoral fin ray, the ray of the anterior dorsal fin, the caudal fin ray, and the neural spine are hollow, and contain an unknown gas. Autopsies confirm the presence of a gas, but chemical analyses have yet to reveal the gas.

SCP-XXXX are able to fly, and able to breathe in an outside of water. While airborne, SCP-XXXX have been observed to travel at an average speed of 2 kmph; SCP-XXXX swim at an average speed of 4 kmph. SCP-XXXX seem to release some of the gas in their skeletons that not only projects them forward, but also allows them to reach lower depths. It is unknown how SCP-XXXX replenishes the skeletal gas in its system.

SCP-XXXX were first discovered in ██████ Beach by multiple visitors, which called local authorities after their initial sighting. Mobile task Force Gamma-6 (Deep Feeders) was dispatched, successfully captured, and relocated 31 instances of SCP-XXXX to Site ██. Dr. M. █████ believes there are more instances of SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX have been observed to behave in a unified manner, using unified tactics and will express a single emotion across all instances as a whole. It is theorized that all instances are capable of group telepathy. However, it is unknown how this is possible. More tests are to be conducted to prove or debunk this theory. A group of SCP-XXXX has been deemed as a "horde" by Dr. M. █████

SCP-XXXX behave like Carassius auratus, as they swim against the glass wall, not acknowledging the existence of the glass. They are placid, and observers show signs of tranquility whilst, and after viewing SCP-XXXX. Discussions for the use of SCP-XXXX as a treatment for mental disorders like depression, anxiety, and PTSD continue. When ravenous, SCP-XXXX behave like Pygocentrus nattereri. They will become hostile, and it is not recommended that anyone should enter the containment area after 8 hours since SCP-XXXX have been feed. They are not averse to eating anything biological.
