Special Containment Procedures: PoI-XXXX/A is currently being tracked by MTF Mu-4 ("Debuggers") and is to be contained in a standard humanoid anomaly containment cell. All subjects believed to be infected with SCP-XXXX are to be interviewed and receive a memetic scan. If they are confirmed to be infected they will be brought in to Site-17 for study. All subjects removed from the population in this manner are to be returned within five days and given Class C Amnestics. All staff researching SCP-XXXX are to receive a verified memetic vaccine prior to exposure.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a memetic thought-form causing subjects affected to show a gradual decay in trust and favorability towards a specific person, here after referred to as the "target". SCP-XXXX spreads by the cognition of criticism towards the target by an infected individual, commonly using one specific criticism towards the targets behavior during a situation or attitude towards a peer. SCP-XXXX can spread to anyone, however its effects are only noticeable in people with awareness of the target, to which they will be unable to form positive memories of the target and all preexisting positive memories will be unreachable. Negative memories regarding the target will be modified to create a worse depiction of them and attach stronger negative emotions. Memory scanning reveals that positive memories still exist and are associated with positive emotions, but have become completely inaccessible by the subject.
While SCP-XXXX is fully capable of spreading through speech to any individual, all instances of SCP-XXXX have primarily been distributed through the internet, targeting subjects between the ages of 16 and 30. Whether these events have occurred as described by SCP-XXXX infected individuals has proven difficult to ascertain, as a majority of SCP-XXXX infected individuals do not have evidence and instead rely on word of mouth. Each instance of SCP-XXXX has been connected with PoI-XXXX/A, known by subjects as "leyt", who is found as being the initial source of these criticisms. Thus far there have been four confirmed instances of SCP-XXXX, respectively denoted as SCP-XXXX-A, SCP-XXXX-B, SCP-XXXX-C, and SCP-XXXX-D.
Discovery: The Foundation initially became aware of SCP-XXXX shortly after the conclusion of SCP-XXXX-C, as this had been the third suicide connected sudden drastic shifts in opinion towards the target, each showing similar emotional patterns and a trace back to PoI-XXXX/A. There is little surviving documentation of SCP-XXXX-A and SCP-XXXX-B due to the infected individuals involved deleting or otherwise destroying all evidence. Little SCP-XXXX-C documentation has been gathered as destruction of evidence had begun prior to proper investigation. SCP-XXXX-D is the only instance with thorough documentation of the events and all evidence surviving.
