Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5561 is to be contained in a 10 m * 10 m * 10 m airtight
lead cube (5 cm thick) with an atmosphere that may only consist of [DATA EXPUNGED] and a safety circle with radius of 2.5 m marked on the floor around SCP-5561 in Site-██. White NAO LED lights are used to light up the room and may not be switched off unless a level 5 personnel working with SCP-5561 gives permission. SCP-5561 is placed in a small bulletproof glass box (1 m * 1 m * 1 m) that is suspended in the middle of the room with golden chains keeping it from touching the floor. No personnel under level 4 security clearance may interact with SCP-5561. This room may not be entered without a proper hazmat suit and after exiting any personnel that entered the safety radius will be quarantined for 4 to 5 days.
Description: SCP-5561 is a unknown bacteria that only contains RNA floating around in the cytoplasm with no cell nucleus, all other small bodies that you would normally see in any cell are non-existent and it is still unknown as to how SCP-5561 functions without any of these small bodies.
SCP-5561 was discovered on an airplane that had crashed into Mount Kurai near Takayama in Japan, it was found when two survivors of the crash reported a weird black goo that had melted one of the engines. MTF units were immediately dispatched to the location and a sample of SCP-5561 was brought back to the Site. MTF units and scientists that had touched the sample complained of skeletal pain describing it as "It feels like it is moving/growing" and had urges to seek a dark room, some of the personnel also described hearing voices saying "Be not afraid of the dark" and "Light is temporary, darkness lives forever", 3 days after exposure the personnel had dark veins and black eyes. MTF unit ██████ was terminated after turning into [DATA EXPUNGED]. All personnel that came into contact with SCP-5561 was immediately quarantined but after 10 days they were [DATA REDACTED].
SCP-5561 can eat through almost anything and has the ability to turn objects into new SCP-5561 cells if in total darkness but it has trouble with heavier elements and (reasons unknown) glass.
If an individual is exposed to SCP-5561 the bacteria almost instantly goes to the spine, theories involve that the fungus uses hemocytoblasts to make more SCP-5561 cells, the pain that the individual feels may be because of how fast SCP-5561 replicates.
