Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4457 is contained within a 9x9x9m cube of glass and intake and outtake valves regulating the cycle of SCP-4457 itself.
Description: SCP-4457 is a mist described as being “dark as the night itself”, with that being the case there are almost no physical traits of SCP-4457.
However, SCP-4457 produces an infectious disease known as SCP-4457-A, it spreads very quickly [see Incident Log 4457-A]. SCP-4457-A has 100% infection rate, however SCP-4457-A doesn’t have specific entities that it attacks. Instances of SCP-4457-A that do infect an individual have a 50% chance of mutating into SCP-4457-1, while the other 50% have a chance of immediate death.
SCP-4457-1 entities are measured at being 2.46m in height, and weighing 80kg. SCP-4457-1 is a vaguely humanoid creature that has 8 spikes protruding out of it’s back, 2 in its front, and the mouth has a row of razor sharp teeth. Nearly all of the skin from SCP-4457-A infected victims is dissolved, leaving exposed muscles and tendons. The bone structure of infected victims are also manipulated, making certain bones longer and sharper. The process of transformation takes anywhere from ⬛ minutes to 30 minutes.
Addendum: SCP-500 has been confirmed to have not stopped the transformation process.
Addendum 2: In ⬛/⬛/19⬛, SCP-4457 was found in (DATA EXPUNGED), Greenland. SCP-4457 was found taking over the town, with most of the town's residents either dead, or transformed into instances of SCP-4457-1.

Exploration Log-A: After numerous reports coming in from the Greenland government the SCP Foundation decided to look into the small town. Shortly after arriving at the destination, the MTF teams sent out discovered that hazmat suits aren’t a reliable way to stay safe from SCP-4457, but do offer some protection against the disease the mist produces.
Incident Log 4457-A:Upon containing SCP-4457 for the first time, a newly trained MTF squad member accidentally opened the valve containing SCP-4457, the mist started expanding quickly, releasing it to the rest of his MTF squad, As a result (DATA EXPUNGED).
