Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX must be kept within all devices it is installed on, and must never, under any circumstances, be played while within the computer's vicinity, or deleted. Any transmission of the file seperate from it's original sender is strictly forbidden. Listening is only permitted through recording and playing back the sound with an external device.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 4.6 megabyte MIDI file with the name "blackmiditest(1)" that, when played, crashes the device it was played on, rendering it unusable for approximately 2 minutes before the computer returns to a normal state. Attempts to edit or view the composition of the file have been unseccessful, all resulting in an error. Immediately after the crash, anybody in the vicinity of the device playing the file show signs of rapid decay, with a tar-like substance exuding from the mouth after 3 days, when the subject dies. During the period the tar-like substance exits the body, all subjects affected has their face express extreme shock; their eyes open widely, pupils dialate, and the lower jaw opens exactly 9.87 centimeters away from the upper jaw in every case. It is unknown if this is caused by the sound, or if
the subjects instinctively make this expression. Pain does not seem to be a factor.

Addendum: Multiple tests have took place measuring how long the file can play before the device crashes; the longest time achieved was 17 seconds. The sound heard was described as "A knife roughly in the shape of a B-flat. About 24 seconds after the crash, the D-class personell performing the test showed signs of it's previously mentioned effects. Of the subjects performing the tests, 4 were instructed to delete the file; after deletion of the file, each subject entered a siezure like state, gradually losing pigmentation in their bodies until colorless, when death occurs after 2 minutes and 56 seconds. This duration is suspect to be the duration of the sound stored in the MIDI file.

The origin of this file is unknown, although it was recieved from an email sent by the adress [REMOVED FOR PRIVACY], and it is unknown who else has recieved the file.
