Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a humanoid containment cell. It is to be treated as a compliant entity and but must be kept under guard for its own protection. Guard rotations are to be reorganised regularly to minimise the amount of times the same group of personnel are assigned to guarding SCP-XXXX while it is alone in its cell. Each member of Foundation personnel assigned to SCP-XXXX, especially security, are to undergo psychological evaluation before being allowed near SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an adolescent female of 15 years of age. SCP-XXXX's anomalous trait causes anyone that inflicts physical or mental harm on it to experience a corresponding form of physical or mental pleasure.
These effects change depending on the harm caused to SCP-XXXX. Most of the information the Foundation has on XXXX's abilities come from its own testimony of what it experienced at the hands of Marshall, Carter and Dark, who held SCP-XXXX for a period of at least ten years.
Depending on the severity of the harm caused, physical harm caused to SCP-XXXX can trigger:
- Relaxation of strained muscles and relieved tension.
- A strong soothing sensation.
- Temporary alleviation from any current pain.
- Heightened adrenaline and euphoria.
- Steadily increased sexual pleasure.
- Intense erotic pleasure.
Mental harm caused to SCP-XXXX can lead to many other effects, including:
- Increased confidence.
- Heightened motivation.
- Developing a more optimistic outlook.
- Euphoric rush.
- Release from depression or anxiety.
- Improvements to mental capabilities.
Addendum: Discovery of SCP-XXXX SCP-XXXX was secured from an anomalous entity smuggling operation organised by Marshall, Carter and Dark by Foundation operative, Dr Julian Lambert. While Marshall, Carter and Dark were able to evacuate the site and destroy all evidence connected with them before more Foundation personnel could arrive, Dr Lambert was able to successfully able to retrieve SCP-XXXX on his own. The circumstances of Dr Lambert's discovery of Marshall, Carter and Dark's operation are currently under investigation due to its highly circumstantial nature.
SCP-XXXX was considered uncooperative with Foundation personnel until April 4th 2018. It made repeated statements comparing the Foundation to Marshall, Carter and Dark or accusing Foundation personnel of deceiving SCP-XXXX as part of a new form of torture implemented by her previous captors. It was not until Dr Lambert was authorised to interview SCP-XXXX that it partially relaxed and become more cooperative. Dr Lambert was since authorised to interview SCP-XXXX repeatedly due to it being more responsive to his questions, despite Dr Charles Forester being assigned to study SCP-XXXX. Dr Lambert has been denied full authority when it comes to studying SCP-XXXX and his interviews are to be carefully supervised.
Addendum: Mistreatment of SCP-XXXX: After repeated incidents while in Foundation care over the past year, SCP-XXXX has been mistreated by several Foundation employees. SCP-XXXX was inadvertently harmed by certain security personnel after being taken to its holding cell and experiencing a sudden outburst. After experiencing the anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX, these personnel would routinely enter SCP-XXXX's cell during times they were assigned to guard it and physically harm it within a mild degree of moderation. After this was discovered, the security personnel responsible were detained and a more complex guard rotation was added to SCP-XXXX's containment procedures.
The results of mental harm on SCP-XXXX was discovered when two members of the engineering staff made remarks intended to tease SCP-XXXX in passing, presumably at the time unaware of SCP-XXXX's nature. Since then they have gradually increased the amount of times they have visited it, increasing the crudeness of their remarks each time. This misconduct was discovered and both have been reprimanded and reassigned to other areas of the site to prevent them from interacting with SCP-XXXX. However both personnel were noted to have vastly improved performance quality and overall attitude during the time they were interacting with SCP-XXXX. Their interactions seemed to boost their own self-confidence and make them feel more motivated and communicative. A request by Dr ████████ to test the possible motivational effects of SCP-XXXX's abilities in moderation has been denied.
SCP-XXXX has named Dr Forester as one of its "abusers", claiming him to be emotionally manipulative, and including physical abuse of it in his test of its anomalous effects only to wipe these incidents from the log and repeat them the next day. However no evidence exists to credit these claims. Dr Forester has claimed SCP-XXXX has been manipulated by Dr Lambert in a ploy to replace Dr Forester in researching SCP-XXXX. Both have been unassigned from SCP-XXXX while an investigation goes underway and SCP-XXXX has been assigned to Dr Amelia Pritchard.
Addendum: Breakthrough in Investigation: After a DNA test, it was revealed that SCP-XXXX is in fact a blood relative of Dr ███████. Both claim to be completely unaware of this fact, however in light of this revelation greater scrutiny has been placed on Dr ███████ and more resources have been placed into this investigation. Dr ███████ has also been tested for the same anomalous effects as SCP-XXXX although appears to not carry them.
06 January 2019: Request to disclose identity of the Foundation personnel responsible for the DNA test request. While I can verify the DNA test was authorised, the identity of the individual who requested it has been redacted. It wasn't part of the current investigation plan - while I appreciate their help, I can't help but feel like they might know more. Why is their identity classified to begin with? I'm heading this investigation, I need to know things like this. - Personnel Director David Hattigan
Request Denied. Sorry David, but if MC&D have contacts on site we've got to be careful about what information gets around. - Site Director Vasilisa Savchenko
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Dr Forester
Foreword: Dr Forester attempts to get information about SCP-XXXX's time with Marshall, Carter and Dark while also evaluating its mental stability, determining SCP-XXXX to be intensely defensive and closed off about its time at Marshall, Carter and Dark. Further questioning is required.
<Begin Log>
Dr Forester: To begin with, SCP-XXXX, I understand you gave our people quite a bit of trouble when they showed you to your new room. We're only trying to help. I know this place might seem scary and strange, but-
SCP-XXXX: Fuck you! Its not strange! I'm used to this! I know this! I've been locked up in places like this for almost as long as I can remember! You're just like those bastards that wanted to sell me off! They kept me locked up like a… a zoo animal! Something fun to poke and prod and see how far they can go!
Dr Forester: Please remain calm. No one here wants to hurt you. Its clear that your time with Marshall, Carter and Dark has left you more than a little worried at the prospect of being contained, but it really is for your own good. We can't let a young girl out into the world with your condition, especially with people like MC&D looking for you.
SCP-XXXX: You're just like them… I can't believe I thought I was actually saved…
Dr Forester: XXXX, we are just trying to help you. The moment we find a way to cure your condition we will. But we need to know a few things. You spent years under the custody of Marshall, Carter and Dark. You must be able to tell us something.
SCP-XXXX: I've told you all I know! They didn't tell me things, they just kept me fed and comfortable and patched me up whenever a client… The only time I saw anything beyond the rooms they kept me in was when I was being transported around. And they had people around me all the time, I never got to go anywhere they didn't want me to.
Dr Forester: It must have been such a hard time for you. And truly painful to relive those memories. But if we want to make sure that they can't find you again we need to know as much as we can. Is there perhaps anything one of them said to-
SCP-XXXX: Why are you talking to me like that? What are- Are you… Oh, this is making you feel good isn't it? Patronising me, making me relive what I've been through. I'm not a child… I've been through a hell of a lot more than you have, that's for sure!
Dr Forester: That's not… XXXX you need to remain calm. You're safe here, no one wants to hurt you. XXXX! Can we- can we get security in here? Look at me, you need to stay… Ah, shut off the damn recording already!
<End Log>
Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX entered another panic attack, forcing the interview to terminate early. It was restrained to prevent self-harm and studies of SCP-XXXX were put on hold for the remainder of the day.
09 July 2018 Request to examine the potential benefits of SCP-XXXX's anomalous qualities. After discovering the impact SCP-XXXX had on the two engineers, Michael █████ and Nolan ██████, I decided to evaluate the overall productivity on Site since SCP-XXXX's arrival. It would seem there has been an ever so slight increase overall, with even more notable results among personnel that have had contact with SCP-XXXX. It would seem its discomfort is being directed at us and this is somehow triggering its anomalous effect. I would like to run experiments to see how altering SCP-XXXX's comfort levels might influence productivity around the base further. - Doctor Charles Forester
Request Denied. All research done on SCP-XXXX is for the purpose of either curing its anomalous qualities or gaining information on Marshall, Carter and Dark. Any experiments that involve causing discomfort to the subject must be personally approved by myself or the O5 council, and they don't pay much attention to our little backwater site. I stress, do not actively harm SCP-XXXX without prior authorisation. I will need to see a full report on any experiments you plan and an explanation of how it exactly will help in our research if you do wish to go further with this. -Site Director Vasilisa Savchenko
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX
Interviewer: Dr Lambert
Foreword: Dr Lambert is brought in to interview SCP-XXXX, while monitored by Dr Forester in the next room. As expected, SCP-XXXX appears more receptive to the individual responsible for her rescue.
<Begin Log>
Dr Lambert: Hailey… are you OK?
SCP-XXXX: [Remains silent]
Dr Lambert: I'm sorry I didn't come by earlier. I had to go through a lot of questioning myself before they'd let me see you.
SCP-XXXX: [Remains silent]
Dr Lambert: Your arm… is that… who did this to you? I heard there was an incident with some guards, but everyone said it was something small. … I'll talk to the Director, see if I can get something done about this. Have they been feeding you OK? How about TV? I know you were allowed to have one but sometimes they take a while getting them set up so-
SCP-XXXX: Thank you… For getting me out of there… It might not be great here either, but at least you people don't… Just… thank you.
Dr Lambert: I… I'm glad I could help. If there's anything you want… a better room, better food… there might be a few strings I can pull.
SCP-XXXX: But you can't make any promises?
Dr Lambert: …No. No promises.
SCP-XXXX: Haha… good. I don't put much faith in promises anymore. Thanks for asking about me, but that's not why they sent you in here, right? They want to know about the people that kept me… right?
Dr Lambert: Ah… yeah, Hailey. They're probably going to want something. We've not had much luck with getting an inside look at MC&D before. It could really help us in stopping them doing anything like this to anyone else. But no one expects you to be able to-
SCP-XXXX: I can get you a list… of places I've been. I don't know all of them but… I'm smarter than they thought, managed to figure out a lot of the countries and cities they brought me to. Hotels that they own, medical clinics they have under their thumb.
Dr Lambert: [Remains silent]
SCP-XXXX: You're wondering why I didn't say any of this sooner? You try going through what I have and coming out a very sharing person. I'm not saying I trust you lot, or even that I prefer you to those fuckers you saved me from. Just that I think you might be able to hurt them. And that's something I can get behind.
Dr Lambert: [Chuckling] Alright, Hailey. That's something I can get behind too. Where would you like to begin?
<End Log>
Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX proceeded to inform the Foundation about a number of Marshall, Carter and Dark locations in varying degrees of detail and specificity. This information has triggered a number of investigations trying to pinpoint these exact locations based off of the information SCP-XXXX has shared, the current results of which are kept confidential to avoid risks of leaks to Marshall, Carter and Dark.
09 April 2018 Request to form a more hospitable containment environment for cooperative anomalous humanoids. Many anomalous humanoids contained at this Site are of little to no harm to the wider population, but have an unnecessarily poor quality of life. I would like to put forward the establishment of an offsite location to house a few of these in. The site should be closely monitored and have Foundation personnel present at all times, however the added sense of freedom and normality should help with their overall comfort. Such an improvement to their moods should only help in their cooperation during our studies of them. SCP-XXXX in a particular should benefit a lot from this and I would like to put forward her as a candidate to test this idea out with. - Doctor Julian Lambert
Request Denied. Such an operation would pose too much of a risk to containment. Even if the anomalous individuals aren't a risk to the world at large, their discovery could blow our whole operation. - Site Director Vasilisa Savchenko
21 April 2018 Request to improve conditions for SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX has already been through so much. I'm certain the Foundation is already in the process of acquiring more amenities for her - I've seen her file, I know she's permitted them. If we could speed up this process I'm sure it would do a lot to improve her cooperation. We don't want her to think we might be trying to make her miserable, after all. We're not, are we? - Doctor Julian Lambert
Request Denied. SCP-XXXX will receive its amenities once Site funding allows for it. We're on a tight enough budget as it is and you're the one who decided to pick a fight with Marshall, Carter and Dark. We're going to need to manage our funds as carefully as possible now. - Site Director Vasilisa Savchenko
10 May 2018 Request to fund SCP-XXXX's amenities. She surely doesn't need that much. I can pay for it out of pocket if needed. I don't see why this process has been so slow. - Doctor Julian Lambert
Request Denied. Stop. SCP-XXXX is not under your care. I know you may feel responsible for it after recovering it, but Dr Forester is assigned to that particular object. If I hear any more on this matter from you, there will be consequences. - Site Director Vasilisa Savchenko.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: No form of containment for SCP-XXXX specifically has been determined as of yet as the Foundation is currently unaware of how it transfers from host to host. However, SCP-XXXX seems to be unable to carry out this transfer while its current host, SCP-XXXX-1, is still alive.
SCP-XXXX-1 is to be kept in a closely monitored humanoid containment cell, furnished to aid in his personal comfort and security, however is allowed a degree of freedom of movement, provided he is accompanied by staff trained to deal with his condition at all times.
He is to be read a bedtime story every night and his room is to remain at least dimly lit at all times. Child care and mental health professionals are to remain on hand at all times in the event that SCP-XXXX-1 experiences an anxiety attack.
In the event of a serious anxiety attack or if SCP-XXXX-1 is lapses into a deep depression, either Dr Amelia Pritchard or SCP-999 are to be brought to SCP-XXXX-1 at once. If neither are available, whichever currently present personnel with the strongest connection to SCP-XXXX-1 is to immediately begin reassuring him under the guidance of the currently assigned mental health staff.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous entity of unknown origin perceivable only by the individual, ordinarily a young child, the entity is currently preying upon. It attaches itself to its target, which has been often referred to as its host, able to manifest itself before them whenever it wishes, but seems to prefer when they are alone, somewhere dark or when the host is experiencing a great deal of stress or fear.
As SCP-XXXX ordinarily targets children, it has evaded detection until now due to being disregarded by adults as a symptom of an overactive imagination. SCP-XXXX uses this to instil a sense of isolation and helplessness into its host before moving on to find more ways to disturb its host's psyche. SCP-XXXX will gradually torment its host with threats, taunts and gruesome imagery, seemingly capable of more drastic means of torment the more despair the host experiences. It eventually gains the ability to enter its host's dreams, able to shape them as it wishes to further its torment. Any physical harm the host comes to in these dreams manifest as faint scratches and bruises on their body that appear overnight without explanation.
Once the host has reached a certain level of despair, SCP-XXXX becomes capable of physically interacting with them in the real world, at which point it begins to torture them the first moment the two are alone until eventually dismembering and killing them. The eyes and heart of SCP-XXXX's previous known hosts have never been found. Once the host is dead, SCP-XXXX moves onto another by means the Foundation is currently unaware of. It seems capable if instantly passing on to another host, regardless of physical distance or relation to the previous host.
It has been described by SCP-XXXX-1 as a tall, pale man with twisted and sagging facial features and distorted proportions, particularly in the length of its hands and legs, however drawings and written descriptions left behind by SCP-XXXX's previous victims each portray a different entity.
As a result, we are uncertain if SCP-XXXX is genuinely the only entity of its kind or adopts a different appearance each time it moves on to a new host, however evidence suggests it is the same entity, primarily due to the similarities between its victims and how they died and the fact that SCP-XXXX-1 has informed Foundation staff of stories about the past hosts that SCP-XXXX regularly torments him with which have matched up with all known previous SCP-XXXX hosts.
SCP-XXXX-1 is an adolescent male in his late teens named Daniel Anderson. Apart from being the current host to SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX-1 has no other anomalous traits and is to be treated as a human in every way beyond the precautions necessitated by SCP-XXXX's containment procedures.
Due to having been sheltered and treated like a child as a part of SCP-XXXX's containment, XXXX-1 has maintained a near infantile perception on reality. While he his mental capacity has developed just fine in terms of processing factual information and he has received personal tuition provided by the Foundation since containment, his overall attitude and self perception is akin to that of a young child. It is believed this childlike innocence is a necessary trait to maintain in order to contain SCP-XXXX.
SCP-XXXX-1
Addendum: SCP-XXXX-1 was retrieved by the Foundation in the 21st of January, 2008 at the age of 5.
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a humanoid containment cell, where he must be contained between 22:00 to 08:00 GMT. Should SCP-XXXX ever be transported to another facility, a wider error of margin should be introduced in this time frame to allow for jet lag before adjusting SCP-XXXX's containment period to 22:00 to 08:00 at local time. At all other times SCP-XXXX is to be considered a cooperative SCP
After SCP-XXXX loses consciousness they are to be closely monitored within their containment cell and a security team must remain present in the event that anyone is to enter or exit SCP-XXXX. They are to be provided a list of SCP-XXXX residents which have been cleared to visit during SCP-XXXX's containment. Should anyone not on that list exit SCP-XXXX they are to be forcefully reentered into SCP-XXXX but should not be otherwise harmed unless absolutely necessary. Cleared visitors must be returned to SCP-XXXX prior to 08:00.
In the event that SCP-XXXX's anomalous effect is triggered at a time he is outside of his containment cell, or he is unable to return to his containment cell during his containment period, a security team is to be sent to his location immediately and must return all entities that emerge from SCP-XXXX back to where they came, regardless of whether or not they have clearance.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a human male that transforms into the entryway to a hotel whenever he loses consciousness.
Addendum: [Optional additional paragraphs]
Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: [Paragraphs explaining the procedures]
Description: SCP-XXXX is a tall humanoid male appearing to be middle aged.
Addendum XXXX-1: Discovery
SCP-XXXX was discovered on February 11th 2017 after the Foundation successfully decoded an unidentified radio signal first detected on December 4th 2011. The radio signal was scattered and untraceable, however seemed to be broadcast on secure Foundation frequencies. The signal seemed to contain nonsensical noises and phrases, although upon further investigation was determined to contain a few patterns. After months of analysis a code was discovered amongst the patterns. Deciphering it provided a cipher for some of the other noises within the radio signal. This process repeated until Foundation code breakers were left with two things deciphered from the radio signal - a location and a message. "Come pick me up. I'm bored."
