Item #: SCP-4965
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4965 is contained in a normal cardboard box, in a 5m x 4m x 6m concrete chamber, located at site ██. Ventilation is installed into the chamber, directly connected to the outside, for direct airflow. An airlock is installed inbetween the hallway and SCP-4965's containment chamber. Personnel entering the containment chamber are not required to wear any special equipment when in the vicinity of SCP-4965. Only when operating SCP-4965 are personnel required to wear a ABEK-HgP3 gas mask, and a Level A hasmat suit at all times. Failure to do so may result in possible temporary restriction of access. SCP-4965 requires no "ink" or such material, in order to function, but does require an American 120V electrical outlet.
Description: SCP-4965 is seemingly a normal mid 1990's printer. Formally manufactured by ███████ ███████,
the printer was detained in █████████, Michigan when the foundation recieved a report of, "an everything printer." No other printer of the same model exhibits the same anomalies, as far as foundation knowledge is concerned. At first, SCP-4965 demonstrates no unusual anomalies when under cautious use. But when given a file its firmware is not designed to deal with, the printer will seem to {DATA REDACTED}, and a hint of smoke will pour out of the side vent. Approximately ██ seconds later, the printer will begin to "print" the exact output of the input file, regardless of file size, format, operating system, and contents. SCP-4965 is completely capable of printing living organisms. (See Addendum 4965-1.)
The smoke that SCP-4965 emits is EXTREMELY toxic to any and all beings of life, and is highly corrosive. SCP-4965's smoke does NOT affect the printed results in any form or fashion, though, including living organism's printed from SCP-4965. Upon inhaling SCP-4965's smoke, the subject is immediately paralysed, and breathing is halted. (NOTE: The subject's heart does not become paralysed, but other bodily functions, such as kidneys and liver, do.) The subject, now paralysed, will begin to seemingly "melt" as the smoke from inside their lungs corrodes the internal structures of the subject. After █ minutes, the subjects heart stops, as the smoke dissipates. When ventilation is enabled, it takes exactly {DATA REDACTED} minutes for the air inside the containment chamber to become habitable once again.
Addendum 4965-1:
Dr. █████ Testing log:
August ██, 20██. Dr. █████ entered the containment chamber, fully dressed in the required gear to operate SCP-4965, carrying an "armored" laptop, which seemed to be anti-corrosive.
Once SCP-4965 is connected, Dr. █████ attempts to print themselves a kitten to keep as a pet.
Dr. █████ drags a file over to the printer while on their laptop, and SCP-4965 begins to {DATA REDACTED} as expected.
Smoke begins to bellow out █ minutes later, as SCP-4965 "prints" the kitten.
SCP-4965 suddenly stops, as something begins to scratch at the closed paper outlet.
Dr. █████ gently opens it up and gasps, surprised to find a little black kitten, meowing at them.
Dr. █████ proceeds to gently swoop up the kitten and pet it, disconnecting and replacing SCP-4965 in the cardboard box.
Dr. █████ Proceeds to pack their laptop up, and carrying the kitten out of the containment chamber, entering the airlock, and exiting.
The kitten does not exhibit any abnormalities, or unusual anomalies.
Dr. █████ has now taken the kitten home, and has named it, "Midnight".
