Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX-1 is to be electronically locked in a high security safe within site-██, and will be guarded by two armed personnel. Personnel working in or near SCP-XXXX-1's containment room are required to be examined for any unusual psychological changes. Class-B amnestics administered as necessary. Any instances of SCP-XXXX-2 must be terminated after testing No further testing is to take place (see addendum XXXX-2).
Description: SCP-XXXX-1 is a smooth, terracotta mask without any openings in the mouth, eye, or nose areas. The object can be easily donned by any humanoid without any complications, despite the object lacking any sort of support. SCP-XXXX-1 is estimated to have been created in the 1930's, and shows very little damage due to its age.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects are shown when the object is worn. When the object is worn, the subject wearing is given the designation SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2 will begin to perceive an 'Alternate view of our reality' (see addendum XXXX-1). Removal of SCP-XXXX-1 results in an extreme and violent desperation in the subject to don the object. Subjects in this state have shown lack of Consideration for themselves or others, regardless of prior relationship, and will attempt everything possible to re-obtain SCP-XXXX-1. If SCP-XXXX-1 is clearly unreachable, or the subject believes it has been destroyed, the subject will purposefully or inadvertently inflict self harm, especially the removal of the eyes, as shown in ██% of instances.
