item #: SCP-XXXX
object class: safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept inside Dr. Hall's office at all times. recreational use of SCP-XXXX is allowed if given permission from Dr. Hall or someone with security clearance of level 2 or above. SCP-XXXX-1 is never to run unless done specifically for testing. testing of SCP-XXXX-1 is to be done inside a standard testing chamber as to be easier to clean at the end of testing.
description: SCP-XXXX is an HTC Vive brand virtual reality headset of standard make and model. SCP-XXXX has been painted on the front of the headset. SCP-XXXX shows no anomalous properties unless SCP-XXXX-1 is being run. SCP-XXXX-1 is a 15-gigabyte folder that automatically gets installed to any virtual reality capable computer that SCP-XXXX is connected to.
SCP-XXXX-1 consists of over 1 million text files, audio files, as well as a program labeled "entity sandbox.exe". this program appears to be a sandbox style video game where the player can "battle" many different types of creature or being from either real life or popular fiction, while also being able to use many weapons from real life or fiction. anomalous effects only show during these "battles" as when the player gets hit by something in SCP-XXXX-1, the same wound obtained instantaneously appears on the subject using SCP-XXXX. The same goes for entities that affect the mind of their opponent (usually fictional monsters such as those written by HP Lovecraft). additionally, attempting to run SCP-XXXX-1 when SCP-XXXX has not connected an error will appear with the text "headset not found".
