Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: The property containing SCP-XXXX and the properties surrounding it have been purchased by the foundation and converted into Site-██. All public roads leading to Site-██ have been closed and/or redirected elsewhere. Site-██ is to be under constant armed guard with a minimum and maximum of two armed security personnel, with alternating shifts beginning and ending at 12 A.M. and 12 P.M. Access within and knowledge of Site-██ is to be restricted to personnel with Class 4 clearance.

SCP-XXXX itself is to be kept in a 20 meter by 20 meter tent to protect it from rain damage, potentially harsh winds, and unauthorized personnel attempting to misuse the effects of SCP-XXXX. The entrance of the tent containing SCP-XXXX is to have a key-card lock, with the key-card belonging Dr. David R███.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a triangular formation of sticks on the ground, with a length of about 9 centimeters on each side. At each corner of this formation is a stick stuck into the ground, each one averaging about 5 centimeters in height. In the middle of the formation is a larger stick stuck into the ground, which stands at about 15 centimeters in height. Under the ground of SCP-XXXX is the carcass of a common field mouse, which had died sometime in Spring of 2014.

SCP-XXXX has a circular area of effect with a radius of about 10 meters. Upon entering this radius subjects begin to feel a great sense of dysphoria, which increases the longer the subject spends within SCP-XXXX's radius. Upon leaving the radius the great sense of dysphoria leaves the subject and they feel as if nothing had happened. It was discovered that upon staying within SCP-XXXX's radius for longer than 7 minutes that the feeling of great dysphoria will not leave the subject for some time after exiting the radius. Several subjects from the 7 minute tests never recovered from the feeling of dysphoria and fell into great depressions which they had never recovered from.

Upon questioning the previous owners of the property which houses SCP-XXXX Mr. and Mrs. B██████, that SCP-XXXX was in fact constructed by their 6 year-old son ████. According to Mrs.B██████, sometime in late May 2014 she and her son want on a walk through the woods surrounding their home. After sometime they discovered the carcass of a field mouse that appeared to have been killed by a larger animal. The son was sad that such a small creature had died and decided to bury the mouse, which resulted in the construction of SCP-XXXX.

Addendum XXXX-01:Through several experiments it was discovered that upon staying within SCP-XXXX's radius of effect for longer than 25 minutes subjects will no longer feel an effect of great dysphoria but rather an effect of great euphoria. This effect continued even after subjects were removed from the radius and given amnestics. Further investigation is required into the possible therapeutic application of SCP-XXXX's effects.
