Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored inside of a 4-digit combination safe at Site ██. The combination for the safe is to be left in Doctor [DATA REDACTED] office. Any person attempting to obtain and listen to SCP-XXXX without authorization face demotion and other disciplinary action. SCP-XXXX is to also be inside of its case at all times.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a copy of The Gorillaz album "The Now Now". The album seems completely unremarkable from a normal copy visually, the only difference being that one of the pieces of art located within the case is missing the character "2-D" for reasons unknown.
The anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX are not noticeable unless the second, fourth, or last track on the album are listened to. None of the other tracks have anomalous properties. It should be noted that the anomalous effects of these songs do not appear to exist in audio recordings.
Upon listening to the second track of the album, titled Tranz, all people within a 5 meter radius of the source of the sound will seemingly vanish upon the 56-second mark. This number has never been observed to be lower or higher. Through testing, it was revealed that subjects who vanish are seemingly transported to an unknown location.
Communication devices still work in this location, albeit with degraded quality. Subjects that have vanished state they are in a world filled with vibrant colors that they never knew existed previously and that every single person in the world resembles Gorillaz band member "2-D". Any attempt to communicate with these entities has lead to them simply saying "Hi, I'm Stuart Pot, but you can call me 2-D!". No other words have been observed to have been spoken by these entities. After 1 minute and 24 seconds, subjects that had vanished reappear in their original position, and all have been observed as saying "Do I dance like this? Will it be forever?". The subjects return to normal behaviors after a period of 24 hours. Further psychiatric evaluation has revealed that the effects on the personalities of subjects exposed to Tranz are similar to that of people who have taken magic mushrooms as a form of drug. Personalities of these individuals completely change and are observed to be far more lively and energetic.
Upon listening to the fourth track of the album, titled Kansas, exposed subjects begin to burst out into tears exclaiming "I know I said I wouldn't cry but I just can't stop myself!". All subjects exposed to the track have been diagnosed with clinical depression, but therapy has proven to help subjects overcome it. When questioned, subjects state that all they could think about were "the saddest and darkest moments of their lives", and had a "great sense of guilt" for their wrongdoing. No other effects have been observed.
The final track is named Souk Eye in the usual album, but for reasons unknown is titled Renegade in this copy. The song is identical to Souk Eye, the only difference being the anomalous effects. Subjects who have listened to Renegade state that they miss their lovers more than they ever have. In one case a subject attempted to render himself unconscious by bashing his head against a wall because he couldn't bear the feeling of "being isolated" and missing his wife. All subjects that have listened to Renegade for a period longer than 2 minutes will usually attempt to inflict self-harm, although some individuals seem completely unaffected by it. Further testing is required to determine why some individuals are completely unaffected (See Addendum XXXX-01).
SCP-XXXX was discovered on the ██/8/18 after reports of a child going missing and suddenly reappearing with a completely altered personality, as well as the said child eventually becoming hysterical with sadness, and then also attempting to commit suicide were intercepted by foundation personnel. The parents of the child as well as the child himself were administered Class C Amnestics and the album was taken once it was realized it was the source of the strange occurrences and behavior of the child.
Addendum XXXX-01: By testing people of varying backgrounds, it appears that anybody who has suffered from a form of brain injury is completely unaffected by Renegades anomalous properties. It has also been realized that the song Hollywood may also contain some anomalous properties, but further testing is required.
