Special Containment Procedures: The containment area of SCP-8273 is only allowed access by level 4 and 5 class personnel who have sworn their loyalty to the SCP foundation and the foundation alone. SCP-8273, is held within the bottom of Marianas trench at a elevation of -35,994.1'. the elevator to SCP-8273's containment area is guarded by MTF Alpha-1 task-force. Any personnel attempting to enter the containment of SCP-8273 , who are not class 4 or higher will be shot on site. In the instance that an attempt is made to enter the containment without authorization the containment of SCP-8273 will be flooded with fluoroantimonic acid and left over the period of 6 hours, then the acid will be drained and stored for use.
If SCP-8273-2 is created, all personnel are to secure SCP-8273 and engage SCP-8273 until MTF Mu-3 can arrive equipped with fusion rifles and one issued H.I.D (PROTOTYPE HANDHELD FIREARM). all personnel in the facility will be administered the Y-909 compound, and reassigned to a new project until further notice. All who have been attacked by SCP-8273-2 must be shot on site and burned. The corpse of SCP-8273-2 must have several samples taken from it, to be studied for more information.
Description:SCP-8273 strongly resembles a 13th century Norwegian helmet (Size of SCP-8273 varies from each user). It is made out of SCP-0930, SCP-0930 is by all accounts as indestructible. SCP-8273 is the only known source of SCP-0930.
All attempts to destroy SCP-8273 have failed. SCP-8273 will not harm the user.The top layer of SCP-8273 has degraded over time, chunks of the top layer remain in certain sections. SCP-8273 seems to contain all known knowledge of Norwegian gods, language, magic, weapons, forgery, races, etc.
SCP-8273 is a Class VIII cognitohazardous entity. Direct observation of SCP-8273 may cause severe mental alterations in viewers. Individuals who directly observe SCP- 8273 are hit with strong feelings of dread, fear, and in most cases will render most who look directly at SCP-8273 mentally unstable, in which any sign of the victims mental health deteriorating must be eliminated to prevent the creation of SCP-8273-2.
Discovery: SCP-8273 was discovered in Iceland,in the deep recess of Surtshellir found inside of a 3.5m in diameter Sulfur crystal measuring 8.7m in length weighing 49 tonnes. The crystal was discovered by a group of archaeologist Dr. Mrahin Skeilfold graduate of Cambridge leader of the expedition decided to excavate the helmet, when his colleague Bill Brenton looked into the eyes of SCP-8273. Bill then said" we shouldnt be here". Bill started to show slow deterioration of his mental state which eventually stopped after about 5 minutes. Bill now expressing a deep concern said" Mrahin, please stop something about that thing isnt right". Mrahin looks at Bill and says" ive worked too hard to let this go". Bill then procedes to warn the others Dr.Lee Skeilfold and Dave kriegger. Bill says" whatever you do, dont look into the eyes of that thing,that thing is cursed". in which Dr.Lee says that Bill is spitting nonsense, but Dave listened to him. Bill and Dave walk out of the cave, and wait by the car for the others. An hour passes by,Bill asks Dave,"do you think they are ok"? Dave replies,"i dont know, all i know is that i dont want to be here longer than i have to. It feels like Im being watched". Ten minutes later, both Bill and Dave hear Dr.lee scream. Bill runs back into the cave with a KIMBER M1911. Dave hears yelling, seven gunshots fired. Then Dave heard what sounded like bones crunching, and muffled screams. Dave sees a figure walking out of the cave, Dave yells, "is that you Lee"? The figure walks into the light, it was the twisted rotted figure of Dr.lee. She turned her head in a abnormal way, and started running at Dave. Dave pulls out his desert eagle. he gets in a stance, and fires 3 shots into Dr.Lee's head staggering her. Dave , horrified runs to the car to get away, but Dr.Lee, now fully transformed into SCP-8273 tackles him to the ground, breaking his ribs. Then she rears up, and breaks his skull killing Dave instantly.
MTF ALPHA-1 are sent out on a call talking about a car stranded in the Icelandic tundra near the location of Surtshellir. Upon arriving control hears gunfire, and screams the leader yells that a humanoid creature of unknown origin is engaging them. There's silence for about 2 minutes, then the leader responds, "target appears to be a badly decayed woman". Command replies, "understood,take several samples, burn all casualties, and search the cave for anything that could've cause this. The team proceeds into Surtshellir, the leader replies after several minutes that they found something. command ask what the object is, leader replies" its a old viking helmet, but it feels weird. as is something is watching us. command replies to obtain the helmet, and put it in a case for examination. All evidence at Surtshellir is blamed on sulfur gas, and the corpse of SCP-8273-2 is taken in for further research.
