I received your orders, but with all due respect, I must object.
The proper words to explain my feelings fully fail me, though by nature or by choice I cannot tell. Drs. Riddles and Mars have an inexplicable bond. Ask anyone who has witnessed the two together, and you will discover their work and intellect are only strengthened by their togetherness. Separating them even briefly, I fear, would severely affect both their health and performance.
If you insist on their reassignments, then I will fold. However, skim the files I have attached first. Tell me then that you still wish to proceed with your decision.

Circe Riddles first came to the attention of the Foundation while in college. She had written a paper titled
Pygmalion, as you woke me from the stone,
So shall I you from bonds of sullen flesh.
Lovely I am, merciful I shall prove:
Woman I am, constant as various,
Not marble-hearted but your own true love.
Give me an equal kiss, as I kiss you.

Dr. Sergei V. R. Mars, Project Manager
Security Clearance Level 3
Current Assignments
- compile and analyze historical primary sources relating to various GoIs and anomalies
- assemble and manage project groups
Personal Information
Sergei Mars was brought to the foundation as an infant by [REDACTED]. After a testing period concluded little to no deviations from standard hume levels in Mars, Senior Researcher Pallas Lucianus requested to personally raise and train Mars which was approved by 05-██.
During his developmental years, Mars was raised by Senior Researcher Pallas Lucianus. Lucianus provided Mars an expensive and thorough education, hoping to raise a child undefined by [REDACTED].
Mars graduated from both high school and college with high honors and a history doctorate. He duel-majored in management and language. Mars speaks English, Mandarin, Latin, Russian, and Greek.
Mars displays a desire to please. He suffers from frequent nightmares and chronic sleep-deprivation, oftening focusing more on work than his personal needs. Strangers describe him as disinterested and vaguely narcissistic, but much of this stems from anxiety and potential PTSD. His relationship with Circe Riddles reveals he is quite capable of enjoying others when he feels relaxed. Mars, Riddles, and several others perform Lemon Demon covers in their spare time.
His management skills have caught the attention of higher-ups, but Mars suffers from perfectionism, which sometimes impedes his work. Several relationships with fellow researchers have been strained due to an inability to accept less than the very best work.
He has an uncanny ability to find lost items.
One wants to turn away—and cry
for fire to break out on the stairs
and raze each suffocating room.
But the walls stay, the roof remains
strong and immovable, and we
can only pray that if these rooms
have memories, they are not ours.
