SCP #: 3487
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3487 currently resides in Site 19. Access to the SCP is for 2+ level personnel. Any person looking to use SCP-3487 for any reason must receive access from the O5 Council. SCP-3487 is to be kept in a bulletproof, locked container, in Researcher ██████ desk. SCP-3487 must be kept just as any ordinary gun is to be kept. There must be no bullets inside SCP-3487 unless in use. When testing, the subject must only be a trusted researcher, and never a Class-D as the Class-D could use it to harm anyone present during the test.
Description: SCP-3487 appears to be an ordinary Colt Python .357 Magnum Revolver. It has all the similarities except for the firing mechanism. The cock on SCP-3487, which has to be pulled back to fire, is stationary and is unable to move. It was found that SCP-3487 can be fired without cocking it, but it still requires being reloaded. SCP-3487 can be loaded with the typical ammo used for its model. SCP-3487 was found in the possession of Robert ███████.
SCP-3487 and its anomalous properties were discovered and reported to Site-19 containment specialists after Researcher ██████ attended a sharpshooting contest, in which the owner, Robert, was participating as a contestant. Researcher ██████ found Roberts use of SCP-3487 in the contest very unusual and proceeded to question Robert about this after the conclusion of the event. After being allowed to fire it at a target, Researcher ██████ called the containment specialists to come and confiscate SCP-3487 from Robert. Robert was interviewed about SCP-3487 and it was found that Robert had purchased it at a pawn shop called, "Good Guns Pawn Shop". To date, no evidence has been found of this establishments existence. After the interview, Robert was given anesthetics to forgot about SCP-3487.
Attempts to take apart SCP-3487, or to take samples of its material, have been fruitless. The FPS of the bullet is dependent on how far away the target is from SCP-3487 when SCP-3487 is initially fired. But the bullet will always reach the target in anywhere from 0.050-0.5 seconds. The following is test logs of what extent SCP-3487 would go to hit the requested target.
Test 1 - 9/15/██
Subject: Researcher ███████
Procedure: Shoot SCP-3487 at a target situated 1320 ft away, normally impossible for a revolver to hit as the sights are not that accurate.
Results: When 6 bullets were fired from SCP-3487, all 6 of the bullets hit the target, each bullet taking 0.378 seconds to reach the target.
Test 2 - 10/18/██
Subject: Researcher █████
Procedure: Class-D stands 10 m in front of Researcher █████ with the target located 10 m behind the Class-D. Researcher █████ fires directly at Class-D while aiming for the target.
Results: The bullet hits the target without harming the Class-D in 0.059 seconds.
Test 3 - 1/3/██
Subject: Researcher ██████████
Procedure: Researcher ██████████ sets up a target roughly 1x1 metres in size. Researcher ██████████ will then take a plane 378 miles away and stand in an open field where he will aim for the target he set up and then fire SCP-3487.
Results: When Researcher ██████████ fired SCP-3487, cameras set up around the target showed the bullet go straight through the middle of the target, 0.479 seconds after SCP-3487 was fired.
- Request by Researcher █████████ to change the classification to Thaumiel as SCP-3487 could be used for assassinations, or to kill dangerous uncontainable SCPs from a long distance, has been denied by a member of the O5.
- SCP-3487 could be used for those things but we have much better material for use in any situation where we need to assassinate an authority or destroy an SCP. -O5 Council
