Yes, I know this is was a terrible idea.
Item #: SCP-167
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-167 is to be kept in a standard Safe object containment cell. Unexplored areas of SCP-167 are off-limits to personnel not part of a designated exploration team. Expeditions into unmarked areas of SCP-167 must be approved by Dr. Harris.
Personnel within SCP-167 are required to carry an approved navigation method on their person at all times, while exploration teams must carry at least two per person. A list of approved navigation methods is provided in document 167-01.
Description: SCP-167 is a cube measuring 4 meters on each edge with a door affixed to one of its faces. While SCP-167’s walls appear to be made of steel, the material has thus far resisted all sampling attempts.
The object’s interior is a cubic room measuring 3.7 meters on each edge with one aperture similar in dimensions to a doorway on each of two other walls. These lead to identical rooms, each with two more doorways that lead to identical rooms with their own doorways, and so on. No pattern has been found to describe the placement of these doorways.
SCP-167's interior is not affected by motion of SCP-167's exterior, including tipping, rotating or short drops. Compasses and GPSes both function inside SCP-167. There is a definite magnetic north, pointing toward the object's entrance when in the initial room, but remaining fixed in the same direction wherever the compass is. Compass needles will immediately rotate the point to this magnetic north upon entering the object, and revert to Earth's magnetic north when exiting the object. This allows for precise navigation through SCP-167 using lists of cardinal directions.
GPSes display the user's location consistent with the user's motion through the object, and will show the user as having returned to their initial position if what would be a self-intersecting path in a Euclidean space is taken through the object.
SCP-2998 is detectable throughout SCP-167, with no noticeable changes in the signal's content.
SCP-167 bears signs of exploration and habitation prior to Foundation custody, including a variety of man-made objects and several anomalous items. A list of objects recovered from SCP-167 is provided in document 167-03.
During initial investigation, a series of markings was found by doorways leading back to SCP-167’s entrance, presumably created by prior inhabitants of SCP-167. Researchers have used various methods to replicate and extend these markings during subsequent explorations deeper into the object.
Addendum 167-1: SCP-167 Research and Expedition Log
Addendum 167-2: Due to SCP-167's apparent effectiveness in storing and containing anomalies not requiring special containment, plans to turn SCP-167's interior into a secondary anomalous item storage wing are pending approval by site administration.
