Special Containment Procedures:
Because the anomaly poses a cosiderable risk of a containment breach in Site 49, Mobile Task Force Alpha-7 ("Security Blanket") and MTF-Beta-5 ("Babysitters") are currently being dispatched nightly to perform a broad searching of any instances of SCP-XXXX in the general area at which they manifest. The MTF personnel are to exterminate any entities that manifest and return to base camp once all are confirmed neutralised.

Description:
SCP-XXXX is a collection of humanoid entities that manifest every sunset somewhere within 25 kilometers from Site 49. The anomaly manifests in groups ranging from six to ten individual instances at a time. These groups have been observed to consist of entities of varying races, each of which resemble those in popular fantasy fiction (Note: elves, orcs, dwarves, and several other races from mainstream fantasy fiction). Each entity uses a specific type of weaponry and armor that are seemingly typically used for their respective race and combat specialty (see below).

+ Detailed Overview of SCP-XXXX Instances' Combat Specialties

The following combat specialties have been observed:

• Archer (SCP-XXXX-A)—Those who are assigned this combat position are equipped with leather armor and a bow and quiver. They attempt to deal as much damage to the enemy as possible. The arrows that the archer fires are usually given an additional damage type (ec. electrical, fire, cold), which manifest around the arrow immediately upon collision with its target.

• Heavy (SCP-XXXX-H)—Those who are assigned this combat position are equipped with considerably resistant iron armor and typically use broadswords or two-handed battle axes. They attempt to draw enemy fire towards themselves instead of the other SCP-XXXX instances. Heavys have the ability to manifest a tornado-like entity by swinging their weapon in a full horizontal arc.

• Sorcerer (SCP-XXXX-S)—Those who are assigned this combat position are equipped with robes instead of armor. They are also equipped with wands or staffs that exhibit anomalous properties. Upon the will of the sorcerer, said weapon emits homing flying projectiles that deal a considerable amount of destructive damage once collided with its target. Sorcerers have also been observed to manifest spherical energy fields around their allies, which repel or block all incoming enemy fire. This "shield" manifestation can remain present for up to thirty (30) seconds before dissapating. Past encounters with SCP-XXXX instances have revealed that all SCP-XXXX instances, including SCP-XXXX-S, cease attacking when inside the energy field manifestation, which according to research staff suggests that returned fire from their allies when inside the sorcerer's shield is either impossible or ineffective.

SCP-XXXX instances all carry battle armor and munitions that appear to those that have been used in the Medieval period, with the exception of wands (see above). Every instance manifests with them a mount (Equus ferus caballus) for their transport and are presumed non-anomalous. Every group has a common goal or task to complete. This "quest" changes upon every manifestation, but according to audio recordings via system of hidden microphones, the most common of these are "uprooting the Corrupt Weed of Nihlith," "acquiring the Holy Grail," and "rescuing the Refugees of Arancia" (see addendum). Foundation linguists noted that they all speak in a northern dialect of Old German. The entire group, along with their belongings, vanish either once their quest is complete, when all are killed during combat, or when they fail to complete their quest before sunrise. When their quest is either to rescue the Refugees of Arancia or to acquire the Holy Grail, the SCP-XXXX instances always target Site 49. As of yet, the group of SCP-XXXX instances have never managed to breach further than the main gate of Site 49. Since initial discovery, every encounter with SCP-XXXX instances, regardless of the particular quest that they are compelled to complete, have thus far been met with great hostility and resistive force. If left alone, the SCP-XXXX instances will make their way to their target, which has never yet been observed outside of their possible area of manifestation.

+ List of SCP-XXXX's Observed Quests

• Uproot the Corrupt Weed of Nihlith: The group of SCP-XXXX instances travel to a random location within their possible area of manifestation, where they encounter an immense weed plant with bioluminescent sections (species unknown, but presumed to also be a manifestation from SCP-XXXX. The weed (designated SCP-XXXX-W) has been observed to be sentient and extremely hostile to all living mammals. SCP-XXXX-W's system of large, serrated tendrils is its default means of defense. From the hundreds of pores that cover the area of the bulb-like structure in the center of the creature shoots a greenish-teal acid that covers the surrounding area, making a close-range attack against SCP-XXXX-W considerably difficult to accomplish. Once the SCP-XXXX instances successfully slay their target, the quest is completed.

• Acquire the Holy Grail: The group of SCP-XXXX instances attempt to breach Site 49 in an effort to acquire said object. While presumed to be an object in Site 49, the specific item for which they seek is undetermined at this time.

• Rescue the Refugees of Arancia: Similar to the Holy Grail quest, the SCP-XXXX instances attempt to breach Site 49. Although it is not yet been concluded who the persons the SCP-XXXX instances refer to as the "Refugees of Arancia," but senior researcher Dawe hypothesises that the D-class personnel are the SCP-XXXX instances' persons of interest.

• Slay the Dragon of Yithidia: The group of SCP-XXXX instances travel to a random location within their possible area of manifestation, where they encounter a large fire-breathing dragon (designated SCP-XXXX-D) conventional to popular fantasy novels. SCP-XXXX-D's effective range of its fire has been observed to be at an average of thirty (30) meters. Apart from having durable scales and having the abillity to fly, SCP-XXXX-D has no other notable attributes. Once the SCP-XXXX instances successfully slay their target, the quest is completed.
