Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX in to be kept in a 244 square meter site disguised as a building site, with 2 guards monitoring the outside at all times. Any civilians who question this are to be told that SCP-XXXX’s Containment Cell is the construction site of a private company and are not to go near it. Any non-Foundation Personal (Whether it be a civilian or someone from another organization) who attempt to enter the site, whether they are successful or not, are to be immediately detained and given Class C Amnestics.
Description: SCP-XXXX consists of 2 entities. The first is a pitch-black portal, 1.8 meters wide and 2.1 m tall (Around the size of a French Door), that manifested in Southern Australia, with the second being the space inside of SCP- XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-2 is complete darkness, with no oxygen inside. It is also endless, with no kind of sky or underground.
Living creatures are able to enter SCP-XXXX-2, but due to lack of oxygen, it is recommended that anyone entering comes equipped with oxygen tanks and anything else necessary. Inanimate objects will completely dissolve when entering SCP-XXXX-2 unless being held by anyone who enters. The cause of this is unknown, and our primary goal as of writing this is to find out why.
SCP-XXXX-1 was discovered on the fourth of August in 1992, when a tourist group had reported “seeing a black hole” and attempted to convince other tourist groups that what they saw was real. SCP-XXXX-1 however was not taken into Foundation custody until 14/10/92 when Foundation agent Rivera overheard a tourist who believed the original tour group.
A series of tests have been conducted with SCP-XXXX with multiple different subjects, but were restricted to just D-Class Personnel and common household objects a few months ago by order of head researcher Dr. Webster, who claims that testing could get extremely dangerous otherwise.
_TESTING PRE-RESTRICTION_
Subject: One D-Class Personnel fitted with oxygen tanks, torch and a standard camera.
Result: D-Class successfully survived within SCP-XXXX-2. Camera feed showed that there was nothing within SCP-XXXX-2 and no kind light was shown to emit from it. SCP-XXXX-2 is proven to be nothing more than a blank dimension where nothing is able to exist.
Subject: Bullet fired from a Ruger SP101 handgun Inside of SCP-XXXX-2
Result: Fired bullet immediately dissolved as it left the handgun. The same result was recorded for every other bullet fired.
Subject: One D-Class fitted with oxygen tank, torch, camera and a shovel
Result: D-Class was unable to dig inside of SCP-XXXX-2 as the shovel seemingly went through the floor. D-Class was given a jack hammer in another test. The same with the shovel happened.
Subject: Bevy of quail, all fitted with lightweight camera
Result: Birds did not last long inside of SCP-XXXX-2, but reached no kind of roof or top when flying up. This proves the theory that SCP-XXXX-2 has no sky.
Subject: (WIP)
Result: (WIP)
Subject: Ballistic Missile
Result: Test did not get approved by Head Researcher Dr. Webster. Researcher who requested this has been demoted to D-Class Personnel.
It was at this time that Dr. Webster had but the restriction on test subjects.
TESTING POST-RESTRICTION__
Subject: Staple gun
Result: Staples dissolved as soon as they entered SCP-XXXX-2 as expected.
Subject: D-Class Personnel
Result: D-Class suffocated as soon as they entered SCP-XXXX-2 due to oxygen tanks being a restricted item.
“This restriction is getting us nowhere. If all we can access are household items and D-Class Personnel, we’re not going to learn anything about this… Portal… Thing. I’m going to have to ask Dr. Webster to lift the restriction, and if he doesn’t agree, tough shit. We’re continuing with tests like the restriction never happened.” -Junior Researcher Brand
This was the last Dr. Brand was heard of and seen from, and he is presumed missing. Searchers are still continuing to find him.
Addendum: It was reported that on ██/██/████, SCP-XXXX-1 had shrunk in size. A few months later, this was reported again. It is estimated that in 7 years’ time, SCP-XXXX-1 will be roughly the size of a thimble, and will have completely disappeared in 8. The Foundation has no current means of halting or slowing down this process.
If this were ever to happen, SCP-XXXX should be re-classed as neutralized, and the testing grounds for SCP-XXXX should be torn down or be used as testing grounds for another SCP. All Foundation staff who were assigned to SCP-XXXX should also be re-assigned to testing with another SCP.
