Item #: SCP 1194
Object class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP 1194’s perimeter is to be guarded by 2 platoons of MTF agents at all times. 12 Checkpoints have been set up for every 5 kilometres. These checkpoints are assigned with the detection of any additional anomalies either from within the forest or outside the perimeter of the forest, and stopping anything trying to enter or escape SCP 1194. Any encountered Civilians are to be given class B amnestics. Patrols are to be executed around the clock. There have so far been no attempted SCP 1194-B or SCP 1194-C breakouts.
Any agents showing signs of diffusion or a missing shadow, all physical touch must be avoided and the agent must be assigned to a special containment unit if possible.. This containment unit is a 3x3m box with 1m thick steel walls. If this process is too risky and will likely result in more casualties or a breakout, then any instance(s) of SCP-1194B must be terminated. After these situations, the Site Director of site 19 (which is 30km away from the centre of the forest), must be alerted at once.
Description: SCP 1194 is a forest located in East Siberia, approximately 100 kilometres from the city of Bratsk. SCP 1194 has an area of about 200 square metres, and seems to be in a state of perpetual fall. The trees visually resemble the oak species, however no similar species to this tree have been detected across the globe. The tree cells of SCP-1194A seem to be highly irregular, and function unlike any biological cells on earth. There also have been no DNA or chloroplasts found within the cells of an individual SCP 1194A entity. This suggests that the tree is being fed by a nutrient source other than sun rays, testing on this trait of SCP 1194A is still being done.
SCP-1194 has two phases which rotate once every 2 hours and 13 minutes.
The first phase is the benign phase: any humans entering the forest will sense a presence of other entities in their proximity. This is not only limited to the feeling of being stared at, but also sensations of being touched/pushed and other forms of physical contact. Leaves fall down at this phase, as the forest is in a state of fall. So far there have been no injuries observed from people within SCP 1194 during phase 1. Time and space during this phase are reported to be non-Euclidian.
The second phase is the malignant phase: anyone inside this forest is unable to be contacted by any communication systems from outside SCP-1194. This phase can be characterized from the outside by the trees ending their process of abscission, and instead grow back their leaves. From the inside this can be characterized by the appearing of multiple black diffuse/gaseous entities appearing in the forest. These are instances of SCP-1194B. Instances of SCP-1194B are actively hostile towards all lifeforms.
Time appears to warp from inside the forest, 2 hours and 13 minutes, can take 10 minutes or has once even be recorded to take 74 hours.. The space of the forest during this time also seems to be Euclid, as it is impossible to leave the forest at this time, being much bigger than the forest during phase 1. No boundaries have been found as of yet in phase 2, and any signals are unable to be transmitted out of the forest. Therefore the only possible way of recording phase 2 is by storing video images on the memory of a video recorder.
All conventional weapons have no effect on SCP-1194B and will go straight through. SCP-1194B attacks by physically touching a victim, after which the victim’s shadow will immediately disappear. The victim is then considered to be in the transformation process towards becoming an instance of SCP-1194B, and is designated to be an instance of SCP-1194C. From this point on the body will begin to diffuse, during which the instance of SPC-1194C will remain conscious, but will gradually lose mental acuity and parts their memory. During this transformation process, a new tree will gradually begin to grow on the outside of forest. This tree seems to correspond with the transformation status of SCP-1194C. Once the transformation is complete, or the instance of SCP-1194C is terminated, the tree will cease growing. The transformation process seems to take 4 to 26 hours after which the transformation into SCP-1194C will be complete. Instances of SCP-1194C are highly infectious, infection can occur through physical contact. During the second phase, SCP-1194B can still be terminated by any conventional weapons. During the first phase, SCP-1194C will disappear and is unable to be located the next 2 hours and 13 minutes, similar to the instances of SCP-1194B
Any material separating the touch of SCP-1194B or SCP-1194C from the victim, will protect the victim from physical contact. However the material can be damaged or removed by these SCP’s.
At the centre of the forest lies an impact crater. Buried deep within the centre of the crater lies the excavated SCP-1194D, which is a computer containing an AI measuring 2x2x0.5m. When questioned about anything, including its operating procedures, SCP-1194D responds with: “Answering is not part of my task perimeters.” It has only been shown to respond to the languages: Russian, English, German, French and Portuguese. SCP-1194D shows no hostile behaviour, until anyone either shows intent to damage instances of SCP-1194A, or attempts to dismantle SCP-1194D, both of which will result in losing all contact with personnel in proximity to SCP-1194D.
