Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedure: Any and all instances SCP-XXXX must be kept at the center of a concrete cell no smaller than 10 meters x 10 meters x 10 meters. No personnel that often exhibit tired behavior are allowed to be assigned to SCP-XXXX. All personnel assigned to SCP-XXXX must have a stable 8 hour sleeping schedule, and can not be near SCP-XXXX with less than 8 hours of sleep. Any staff feeling any sort of fatigue or wanting sleep must immediately report to a Level 3 or higher staff member of their behavior and be unassigned to SCP-XXXX for 7 days.
No staff may stay within the cell of SCP-XXXX for longer than 1 minute. Any tests being conducted on SCP-XXXX must be carefully observed by non-fatigued personnel, and switched out if they gain fatigue.
SCP-XXXX must be cleaned after every test done conducted. Cleaners must be D-Class personnel, and only partially clean for no longer than 30 seconds, changing out a cleaner each 30 second interval until SCP-XXXX is fully cleaned.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a single-sized bed, approximately 2 meters long and 1 meter wide. It has a completely black blanket, seemingly made of some sort of wool, that is approximately 1.5 meters by 2.5 meters. At the head of the bed is a single white pillow. The mattress of the bed has no tag on it, and the inside of it seems to be entirely feathers, but feels from the outside like a spring bed.
When a subject is within 10 meters of SCP-XXXX, they will begin to suddenly show signs of fatigue, their posture often drooping, and their eyes gaining bags. They will then procede to lie down under the covers of SCP-XXXX, falling asleep in 10 seconds. Any effects to stop them from approaching SCP-XXXX usually end with them becoming agitated, sometimes yelling about wanting sleep, or even going to attacking the person until they are free to go to the SCP-XXXX. Any attempts to wake the subject, now stated as SCP-XXXX-a, have no effect.
SCP-XXXX-a will sleep for exactly 8 hours before waking up. During this time, cuts and claw marks begin to appear on their body. If there is clothing where a cut is made, it is ripped as if by an external force. SCP-XXXX-a, however, will sleep peacefully throughout the duration. There are never enough cuts to cause death to SCP-XXXX-a, and there are never signs of blood loss besides blood on their body and on SCP-XXXX.
Often SCP-XXXX-a will wake up with a scream or heavy breathing. SCP-XXXX-a with at first not be affected by SCP-XXXX again, but after 12 hours, they will attempt to sleep within the bed again.
If SCP-XXXX-a is able to sleep again, they will receive cuts and claw marks again, but also lose something like a finger or ear or some other extraneous appendage, as if it were bit off. The extraneous appendage disappears, and the wound seems immediately cauterized. SCP-XXXX-a will wake up again under similar conditions as the last time they woke up.
If SCP-XXXX-a is allowed to sleep again, nothing will happen to them until immediately after they wake up, in which they will die of a heart attack immediately.
SCP-XXXX-a, when questioned, often depicts a nightmare in which they were chased by a creature that consisted of shadows. Its most often described as having extremely long limbs with needle-like claws at the end, a large, stubby head with small hairs coming from the top, and short, stubby legs, and is no taller than 1 meter. They usually depict that the first night they were chased and cut up by it, but nothing worse. The second night consists of an extraneous appendage being bitten off, which always matches the one lost during the sleep. Nothing is currently known about the nightmare of the third night.
