Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4983 is to remain connected to the main power line within facility █ unless to be cleaned or tested with, which then the facility goes on to backup power until returned. If removed without permission the facility will go automatically shut down until backup power is switched on, which will run until the cog is put back into place. If the backup power fails to come online before the remaining power generated runs out, then all of the SCPs within the facility will be able to roam around an escape which breach protocol will then be implemented. No less than 2 members of staff and 2 facility guards are allowed to be around this SCP. 2 facility guards must be guarding this SCP at ALL times. Only staff with Level 3 clearance or higher are allowed to move or test with this SCP.
Description: SCP-4983 Is a rusty old cog that develops rust every 3 day, which the staff members polish it with a new polish substance, which makes the rust develop a lot more slowly. Even though this is the case the rust seems to become more immune to it overtime, it seems to be alive like a sort of fungi. The fungi like rust will react to any flesh like substance if touched without wearing any specialized equipment.
Additional Notes:
This cog needs to be placed inside the machine that powers the facility. If the users skin makes contact then the user will begin to get constant headaches. The user’s skull will begin to indent so far as having the person's skull lodged into the brain, eventually causing death. Special equipment are required to prevent contact with the skin, in case the user comes into contact with the cog. So far there has only been 1 incident that a person has died while from contact with the cog due to a tare in the suit they were wearing and all staff will make sure that their suit is fully fitted and ready before entering SCP-4983's chambers.
