SCP-XXXX, The Morphine Man
Item#: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid
Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in standard-sized humanoid living quarters. It is allowed access to a heavily monitored computer, and approved movies and television shows. Requests to exit containment may be confirmed, a singular guard accompanying it at all times. At no points should the entity be allowed to interfere with research, experiments, or object transport.
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a high security humanoid containment chamber, with air of typical composition being funneled in. All air exiting through the ventilation must be funneled into a container until it's composition is determined. All air containing traces of opioids is to be funneled into 10 gallon metal containers that will then be transported out of the site and opened in a safe disposal site. The containers will be returned to the site, disinfected, and reused.
The door to SCP-XXXX's containment chamber must contain an airlock to allow for personnel entry or exit without contamination of the air outside of the containment chamber. All personnel entering the containment chamber must be equipped with a sealed radiation suit and oxygen tank.
Update: The source of oxygen must be firmly attached to the personnel's suit and the connective tube between the two must be as short as possible, see Incident Report.
SCP-XXXX is allowed to request approved music or audiobooks to be played within it's chamber, and is allowed access to a singular magazine at a time. If requested, a printed list of available selections for each media source may be given to the SCP on printer paper. No pointed objects, including writing utensils, are allowed in the containment chamber at the same time as Foundation personnel. If requested, a variety of typical office supplies can be given to the SCP, but must be returned prior to the entry of any Foundation personnel.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a humanoid male of Indian and Greek mixed ancestry, standing at approximately 167 cm, of a slim build, and while the entity has stated it is of 36 years of age, it's body demonstrates development more akin to a 30 year old. SCP-XXXX's heartbeat is approximately 20 beats per minute when at rest. At rest, it breathes approximately four times a minute without any detrimental effects. Blood type appears to be B+, but contains a high concentration of opioids that would typically cause a fatal overdose. The anomaly has assured Foundation Staff that this is healthy, to it's knowledge.
SCP-XXXX's presence around subjects causes overwhelming feelings of relaxation and calm. This effect is both psychological and physiological, with blood samples taken from subjects confirming opioids to have appeared in their systems. The amount of opioids appearing within a subject's body will typically remain consistent within the recommended dose of morphine as a painkiller.
If the entity is instructed to increase the concentration of opioids and it complies, it can do so upon command. SCP-XXXX loses control of this effect when experiencing intense negative emotions.
SCP-XXXX has asserted that the substance is morphine, and that it can administered most strongly through skin to skin contact, in addition to the still effective method of inhalation. All tests conducted have shown no evidence to dispute this claim.
Recovery Information: The Foundation discovered SCP-XXXX when a newspaper entitled [REDACTED] reported a gas attack that was potentially of terrorist origin. The article reported that the police involved did not fully understand the details, but the terrorist was in custody, having seemingly detonated a gas bomb in a public plaza in [REDACTED]. The Foundation intervened in the situation, removing SCP-XXXX from police custody and distributing amnestics to surviving victims of the so-called terrorist attack and police force, and publishing a second article dismissing the previous article and labeling the incident as a gas leak.
The Foundation was called in by an agent to remove SCP-XXXX from police custody, in [REDACTED], Masachussetts. The entity had been arrested after what the police assumed to be a "gas bomb" had been set off in a public plaza, originating from the entity. They were unable to locate any remaining debris from the hypothesized gas bomb, but found trace amounts of opioid's on the entity's clothing. A blood sample from SCP-XXXX sent to a lab for testing was intercepted by the Foundation and confiscated.
SCP-XXXX has been cooperative with Foundation staff and forthcoming on information about the incident of it's discovery. See SCP-XXXX Intake Interview.
SCP-XXXX Intake Interview
SCP-XXXX was introduced to Dr. [REDACTED] once it had been properly contained, in response to the entity's demands to know where it was and what was happening to it. It did not display any physical aggression throughout it's transportation, but had become frustrated multiple times by a lack of answers.

Dr. [REDACTED] seems to also relax, and his posture loosens in turn, flattered by the question, and sits more comfortably. They begin to discuss various topics relating to Dr. [REDACTED]'s work- almost divulging classified information. The rest of the interview continues for another thirty minutes, once it's realized that neither the entity or the doctor intend to stop talking.
Once extracted from the room, Dr. [REDACTED] is examined, and the test registers a low and safe level of opioids in his system, and he refers to SCP-XXXX as Pietro, and as a he. A note is made to not assign Dr. [REDACTED to any interactions with SCP-XXXX again, and future official interactions and tests are timed.
