Description:
This SCP is very dangerous and must be locked in heavy containment. This plant type SCP must, at all times, be kept in a chamber with brief, ten minute periods of complete air tightness to keep growth levels at a very minimum. SCP-8173 seems to reject any attempts to expose it to light or give it any water. D class have gone into the chamber twelve different times to try to give it light or water, all attempts have failed with SCP-8173 cracking the light bulb, ignoring the water and terminating the D class.
After terminating, it will then proceed to entangle the D class with leaves and roots. specific roots will enter the D classes nose and mouth. after several minutes, the D class seems to become controlled by SCP-8173. after fifteen minutes the main part of SCP-8173 will make its way onto the D classes head. the D class will then proceed to hit its head repeatedly off of the containment door.
The D class, seven days later, now completely covered in leaves and roots, starts to show signs of decaying, with leaves dying and roots falling off. SCP-8173 cannot keep beings entangles after long periods without another source of food, such as humans, and reverting to its original size.
After all the roots have died away, the D classes remains become exposed. only the skull and brain remain. SCP-8173 seems to feed off the other organs while disintegrating any harder material in the human body.
After testing what would happen if we put another D class in with the SCP (in its merged state with another human entity), we have concluded that it is a threat to the world by spreading the leaves and roots onto any human that comes into the range of the SCP, making it bigger.
SCP-8173 can control any human entity's put into range but cannot or will not take control or eat any other animals, possibly signifying that it is targeting humans.
