Item: SCP XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedure:
SCP XXXX should be kept on a small 0.8x1x0.8 meter concrete pedestal within a 3x3x3 meter airtight concrete box with a red (54.5% R 0% G 0% B) LED lighting above it to prevent deterioration of any film produced by SCP XXXX (now referred to as SCP XXXX-1). SCP XXXX-1 is only to be developed and viewed specifically under authorization of 05-█ and main researcher Dusful.

Any unauthorized personnel to view any instances of film produced by SCP XXXX are to be administered class-E amnestics.

SCP XXXX regularly produces colored film on a half-yearly basis; if this cycle should stop or be interrupted, the change should be reported immediately to researcher Dusful.

Description:
SCP XXXX is an AMPEX VRX-1000 video tape recorder dating back to 1951, first discovered in the ██████ region between the █████ and ███ province in southern Italy by the Carabinieri during a warehouse raid. When any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are developed, they show a videotape recording depicting an event which will happen within 1-20 years. Knowing the precise date of the events is highly unlikely as the recording has the same quality of one from 1951, and has no headlines, watermarks, or other writings/signs that indicate when the event takes place. To this day SCP XXXX continues to create film, however all of the films which show past events have never shown fictionial or imprecise events, indicating that SCP XXXX creates films of the exact future. Attempts to prevent events shown from SCP-XXXX-1 have so far been met with failure and future testing on the origin and mechanics of SCP-XXXX is currently in question by the ethics committee.

Main Access Logs:

Log XXXX-1980

The recording begins with a picture of the flag of the People’s Republic of China
A protest is shown happening in what appears to be Tiananmen Square, Beijing. The protestors chant and yell several phrases which reveal that the protesters are on a hunger strike and sit-in wanting a democratic reform. After several hours of continuous protest, a tank division along with several infantry divisions enter the scene, in parade formation. The recording then quickly develops into a massacre as the protestors attempt to block the tanks and infantry, as a response, both the tanks and infantry open fire and most of the protestors in the way severely injuring many more. This protest goes on for 3 more minutes before the crowd disperses and the recording halts.

Log XXXX-1988

The recording begins with a picture of the flag of the United Soviet Socialist Republics. The scene then transitions into Soviet Premier, Gorbachev giving a speech in Russian to an excited crowd with the Kremlin behind him. After the 10 minute speech, the flags of the USSR flying above the Kremlin are taken down and replaced with those of the Russian federation. A deafening cheer comes from the crowd and the recording ends.

Log XXXX-1990

The recording begins with an image of the flag of the United States of America. The flag is then replaced with an image of a Boeing 767 aircraft taking off at Dallas International Airport, Washington DC. The plane then suddenly changes direction mid air and heads north east. After about 1 hour of flying, New York City comes into view, the aircraft is approaching the north side of the city. 42 minutes after the city came into view, the aircraft proceeds to crash into the side of the nearest of the twin towers, the recording then burns out and film stops.

Log XXXX-2000

The recording begins with an image of the Russian federation flag. The image then is replaced by a geopolitical map of the black sea. The map then slowly depicts extension of Russian territory into the crimean peninsula and territory until the peninsula is completely controlled by the Russian federation. The scene then transitions into a video of Russian troops parading in Sevastopol, the former capital of the Crimean Autonomous Government. The recording ends 1 hour and 53 minutes into the parade.

-Addendum

The 05 council and the ethics committee have decreed that no recording produced by SCP XXXX other than the main access logs (XXXX-1980, XXXX-1988, XXXX-1990, and XXXX-2000) will be shown to the general public, to any government, private or public organization or other political/economical unless specified. Any viewing of these recordings by a mass of more than 10 people should be supplied with a cover story until the recording reaches its according date (e.g. a recording of 2050 that is shown to the general public in 2015 should be fictionalized until 2050 in which the recording should be shown as non-fiction). Should only one subject view these recordings, the subject is to be amnethized by class-E amnestetics as by the Containment Procedure.
