Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures:
Description: SCP-XXXX appears to be a standard-sized vending machine with an opaque, pink front panel with light blue lettering that reads, "Mike's Magical Mixtures", a coin slot labeled "Please Insert 50 Cents", a keyhole, and five rectangular buttons displaying the names of different varieties of beverages (See Addendum XXXX-A). SCP-XXXX came to the Foundation's attention after the investigation of rumors concerning a "magical vending machine" in the city of San Jose, California. SCP-XXXX was found at the entrance to a Walmart Supercenter. When questioned, staff members claimed to have no memory of the object.
Internally, SCP-XXXX is identical to a basic vending machine equipped to dispense various beverage items. When a key was made and the machine opened, no anomalous materials were found, but the machine was empty. When SCP-XXXX is connected to an external power source and $0.50, or the foreign equivalent thereof is inserted into the coin slot and a flavor is selected, SCP-XXXX dispenses a 12oz. aluminum can. The appearance and contents of the can depend on which button is pressed. The different flavors are designated SCP-XXXX-1 to -5. It is unknown how SCP-XXXX produces these items as the machine will not operate when the door is open or when any video recording device is placed inside. SCP-XXXX will not operate unless connected to an external power supply.
After ingesting any of the beverages offered by SCP-XXXX, the consumer will begin to experience anomalous effects. These effects vary depending on the flavor chosen (See Addendum XXXX-A). Testing has shown the severity of the effects to be independent of the amount consumed.
