WARNING: LEVEL 4/#### APPROVAL REQUIRED
The following documentation describes a Euclid Class Level 3 Memetic Infohazard. Personnel without Level 3 clearance or higher are prohibited. Attempts to view this documentation will lead to severe reprimanding from SCP-Foundation Security officials.
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-#### is not to be described or referenced to any unauthorized personnel, and is to be classified as a memetic infohazard. Personnel are only to view and read this documentation if they have strict commands to do so, and only if they have completed Level 3/#### infohazard protection training. No photographic or artistic representation made with the intent to replicate this anomaly is permitted. Mention of SCP-#### outside of testing environments, be it explicit or indirect, is not permitted. Failure to follow any of these procedures may lead to reprimanding, demotion, or termination.
Any subjects experiencing the effects of SCP-#### must be given Class-D amnestics. Following Indecent #######, they must also be detained, supervised, and quarantined in a noise-suppressing humanoid containment cell for up to 14-days. All closed-channel surveillance of the subject must be caught without audio. Subjects under quarantine are not permitted outside contact, and must be under constant surveillance. Subjects are under no circumstances to be given sharp objects or and solid/liquid sustenance outside of typical dietary requirements. Subjects are allowed one (1) stuffed animal (or any similar item) as this assists them in their urge to describe SCP-####, and helps them do so in a non-destructive manner.
If subjects begin to show self-destructive tendencies, security personnel must intervene, restrain, and sedate the subject, while equipped with noise cancelling equipment. Should a subject begin to draw or depict SCP-####, be it through modifying surfaces (i.e. scratching, scraping, etc.) or painting (be it with liquids, food, or bodily substances), security personnel must intervene, restrain, and sedate the subject in the aforementioned manner. Should the subject become overly incessant in depciting SCP-#### or causing harm to themselves/personnel, they are to be placed in a medically induced coma for the duration of their quarantine. After quarantine is ended, subjects lifted from coma must be detained an extra 24 hours as a precautionary measure, following incident ########. Should any personnel recognize SCP-#### in their daily routine, they must inform security staff, and be placed under voluntary quarantine, or be forced to be subjected to the aforementioned incident procedures.
Description: SCP-#### is a memetic infohazard transmitted through description and depictions of its form, and the effects it causes. The anomaly is described as appearing as a circular black brush stroke, revolving around its center point. Those who view this anomaly first hand, or hear its description, are at risk of coming under the effects of SCP-####. Several factors improve chances of succumbing to the effects of the anomaly, including stress, substance abuse, guilty consciences, violent or socio/psychopathic tendencies, and/or failure to attend infohazard training. Subjects with infohazard training still have a slight chance of succumbing to the effects of SCP-####.
After succumbing to the effects of SCP-#### (hereby referred to as being "afflicted"), subjects begin to form irregular sleep patterns and show increased paranoia. Those under the effects of the anomaly view it in every day instances, particularly on computer screens, papers, and walls. Afflicted subjects then report nightmares, growing in severity proportional to their time since afflicted, and show increased levels of adrenaline and glutamate during REM sleep. SCP-#### seems to maintain its affliction through till increased severity of the affliction, directly leading to insomnia, psychosis, and an acute fixation towards the graphic representation of the anomaly. The reasons for this are not entirely known. Those subjected to the later stages of the affliction feel an urge to depict or describe it to any possible being, be it animate or inanimate.
The affliction seems to end when only when the subject is perturbed to a certain degree, at which point it ceases to afflict the subject. It achieves this through means of showing various violent scenes, not limited to the death of the subject itself. In previous cases, it has shown deaths, mutilations, and ██████ ██████████
As of now, the only subject confirmed to be incapable of relapsing to the effects of SCP-#### is Dr. Lewis Johan March of Site-██. All other subjects are not to be reminded of anything pertaining to this document or this anomaly, as this can cause a relapse of the affliction.
Discovery: The following is a series of excerpts from the journal of Dr. Lewis Johan March, who encountered SCP-#### for the first time on ████ 5th, 20██.
██/05/20██ - Tonight I had the strangest dream. I was standing in my study, when I turned around and saw this weird, inky black brush stroke? Just swirling around on my computer screen. And I heard this weird piano music too, but I cant even remember what it sounds like now. When I went to look at it, I woke up. Maybe work is getting to me, I've done nothing but stare at a screen for the past week. Reading and writing about these nightmares I work with definitely cant be good for my head. […]
██/06/20██ — It happened again, the dream. This time I got a bit closer though. The dream happened the same way as last night, the study, the swirl, the music everything, but this time I actually sat down at my desk. When I did, it just went to this weird website, the music still playing, but I honestly don't even remember what the site was. I just feel nervous, maybe tomorrow I'll get to figure out what it is. […]
██/07/20██ — Well, I didn't dream of the swirl but, I dreamt of… something just… weird. It was either in a forest or a field, I don't remember. But there was a dog, a goldie, lying on its side, and I saw everything through someone else's point of view, I don't know who but I knew that it wasn't me. All I remember seeing was this person, from their eyes, just… Cut off it's leg, and-
Yeah, I'm not writing the rest of it out. I just puked in my trash can. I'm not going through it again. I'm gonna ask █████'s opinion on this, maybe she'll give me some advice.1
██/08/20██ — The dreams are gone, finally. Glad that's over. Slept like a baby last night, but then again we were on the verge of a Containment Breach almost all day yesterday, so I was tired out of my mind. Slept like a rock. […]
[…] It turns out █████ had dreams about the swirl last night too, which worries me a bit. I told her that it gets better eventually, but she suggested something that hadn't really crossed my mind before— what if this is some sort of anomaly? Maybe a memetic infohazard? Me and █████ are going to keep an eye on this for now, and report this to ██████ if this keeps up.
██/09/20██ — Its an anomaly, without a doubt. We've filed it for immediate classification and are going to commence testing as soon as we can. █████ decided to quarantine herself for the time being, till we can figure out what causes this.
SCP-#### was classified as an "Euclid-doctrina" Class object the following day. Following this, Dr March and Dr █████ began arranging for testing immediately.

Interview Transcript ####-1:
Date: ██/10/20██
Interviewee: Dr. █████
Interviewer: Dr. March<BEGIN LOG>
Dr. March: Hey ████.
Dr. █████: Hey Lewis.
Dr. March: Listen… I know its gonna be a bit rough, but for the sake of covering all bases…
Dr. █████: We're gonna need to document my nightmares.
Dr. March: Yeah.
Dr. █████: No worries. I think I'm okay now.
Dr. March: Okay then. Whenever you're ready.
Dr. █████: Well, the first night was the usual, I spotted that black swirl. But I paint at home, so it was on my canvas, like an actual brush stroke, except it was moving, chasing itself. It was almost like it was lifted off the canvas.
Dr. March: Shit, even your art tries to run away from you.
Dr. █████: Hah. Asshole.
Dr. March: Sorry, couldn't help it. Continue.
Dr. █████: Next night, I was in my studio again, but this time I was the one painting. When I started to put my brush to the canvas, the paint kinda flowed backwards, up the brush, onto my hand, and up my arm. By the time it reached my neck I woke up in a cold sweat.
Dr. March: So, the real nightmares started on the second night? Not the third?
Dr. █████: Yeah.
Dr. March: Okay, just wanted that down on record.
Dr. █████: Yeah, it'd be good to test for that down the line. A trend in intensity by iteration, maybe.
Dr. March: Exactly, like a mutating meme.
Dr. █████: Yeah. Well, the psychology ones, not the internet ones.
Dr. March: Well, yeah, of course. But anyways, we've got one more to go. Last night.
Dr. █████: Right. Well, this time it was a completely different space, not my own body. I saw someone jogging, late at night, a few streetlamps. I think it might have been a park or something. All of a sudden, this person I was seeing through, just started running on all fours towards this jogger. She kept running, faster now, screaming, but this… this thing I saw through just tackled her, into the bush, dragged her into the forest. Eventually she grabbed her neck and… ripped it out. Then he… Lewis? You alright?
Dr. March: I… Yeah I just. Saw a shadow on my papers.
Dr. █████: I think we should call it here.
Dr. March: Yeah.
<END LOG>
Note: After the interview, Dr. March reported that the shadow he spotted was a manifestation of SCP-####. Dr. March took note of this, and began to document any other cases of this.

Experiment Log ####-1:
Date: ██/11/20██
Subject: Dr. ████, D-class personnel D-####-1
Procedure: Dr █████ described SCP-#### along with her dreams and those of Dr March to D-####-1. D-####-1 was then detained in a standard humanoid containment cell and observed, and his dreams were logged. The detail of music accompanying the dream was omitted from original descriptions.
Details: D-####-1 had been convicted on aggravated assault and drug trafficking prior to being taken in by The Foundation, and showed diminished violent tendencies in Foundation custody. Prior to the test, Dr. March took note of this candidate's record within the Foundation as being "A pretty remorseful person by the looks of it. I bet he's a nice guy."
[ BEGIN LOG ]
Day 2: - ██/12/20██
[ D-####-1 is observed to be calm. ]
Dr March: So… D-####-1…
D-####-1: Oh for Christ's sake, please call me by a real name. I'm not just a bunch of numbers.
Dr. March: Alright, that's fair. So, █████. What did you dream last night?
D-####-1: I saw that black swirly thing you guys mentioned on the wall over there.
Dr March: How big would you say it was, if you had to guess?
D-####-1: Uh, I dunno, yay big?
[ D-####-1 spread his arms to about the size of 2½ ft. in width. ]
Dr March: Okay… Anything else? The more details you can give us, the better.
D-####-1: Yeah… there was some creepy music playing… just a piano, kinda out of tune.
Dr. March: Okay, that helps. You don't by any chance, recognize the song, do you? Or remember how it goes?
D-####-1: Can't say I do. I was never really known for my fine taste in music.
[ Dr. March laughs ]
Dr March: Thank you, █████, I appreciate it. I'll see you tomorrow.Day 3: - ██/13/20██
[ D-####-1 is observed to be slightly more erratic, staring at the wall he first saw SCP-####. ]
Dr. March: Good morning █████.
D-####-1: Yeah one hell of a good fucking morning.
Dr. March: Ah… Dreams treated you well, huh?
D-####-1: Oh yeah, real good, yeah, hey quick question— WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WITH ME?
Dr. March: Settle down, relax—
D-####-1: Don't you fucking dare tell me to relax.
Dr. March: █████, listen to me. We're trying to find out what's going on, just like you. A few days ago it was us having those dreams. We want to get to the bottom of this, and see if we can find a way to stop this from happening. I'm sorry you have to go through this, I really am, but if we're ever to get to the bottom of this people like you and I are gonna have to make some sacrifices. I know you didn't choose to be here, but there's a thousand other tests you could have been part of, and each of them would probably end with you being a pile of chunks and bones.
[ Dr March and D-####-1 remain silent. Dr. March sits down across from D-####-1. ]
Dr. March: That look in your eye just there. I saw it. You want to tell me about it?
[ D-####-1 remains silent. ]
Dr. March: I'm guessing "chunks and bones" kinda set you off kilter. You saw something rough I bet.
D-####-1: Yeah… Me.
Dr. March: I'm… not following.
D-####-1: I saw myself. "A pile of chunks and bones". I saw it, it was from… some thing's point of view.
Dr. March: Yourself? That's… odd.
[ D-####-1 gets up and paces around his cell. ]
D-####-1: I saw it. It tore through the gates. It broke through, it- it trampled some guards, a scientist, it busted into the observation room you guys got there, I saw myself in here, freaking out, pacing. I saw you, Dr. █████. It trampled past you, scraped your arm, and then busted into here. I saw myself in the corner, yelling my lungs out, and it lunged at my neck and- and-
[ D-####-1 clutches his stomach, and pukes into the cell's toilet. ]
Dr. March: █████, are you alright? Do you need water?
D-####-1: No. No no, I need to get out of here.
Dr. March: You know I can't let you do that.
D-####-1: Why the fuck not?
Dr. March: Because what if, next thing you know, you can't help but tell another D-Class, or a guard, or a researcher? What if this becomes an outbreak, spreading from mind to mind, just because you got scared of a dream? Listen to yourself. We both know we have to keep you here, for the sake of everyone's safety.
[ D-####-1 remains silent. ]
D-####-1: At least beef up the guards for tomorrow. For my sake. Please.
Dr. March: I'll see what I can do. I promise.
[ END LOG ]Note: Following Incident ####/1, the test was prematurely terminated.
Analysis: Experiment shows SCP-#### is capable of transmission through description. The exact nature of SCP-####'s effects is still unknown; Further testing required on the capabilities of SCP-#### as a possible Euclid-praedico Class object.
Incident ####/1: Total Injuries: 4. Total Casualties: 0.
After Day 3 of Experiment ####-1, a containment breach at Site-██ took place, and was promptly suppressed. SCP-████ escaped its containment and broke into the #### Testing block and was neutralized by security. Among injured were Security Officers █████ ████████ and ███ █████, Researcher ████ ███████, and Dr Lewis Johan March.
Experiment Log ####-2:
Date: ██/15/20██
Subject: D-class personnel D-####-1 and D-####-2
Procedure: D-####-1 described SCP-#### along with his dreams and those of Dr. █████ to D-####-2. D-####-2 was then detained in a standard humanoid containment cell and observed, and his dreams were logged. Incident #### was not alluded to, and details of the possible clairvoyant status of SCP-#### were omitted.
Details: D-####-2 had convicted of domestic assault, child abuse, armed robbery, and voluntary manslaughter, and was part of several Alt-Right terrorist groups prior to being taken in by The Foundation. The subject also showed violent tendencies towards D-Class personnel, Researchers, and Security officers while in Foundation custody. Prior to the test, Dr. March took note of this candidate's record within the Foundation as being "Absolutely fucking terrifying. I'm not entering that place without some backup standing by"[ BEGIN LOG ]
Day 2 - ██/16/20██
Dr. March: Good morning.
D-####-2: Who the fuck are you?
Dr. March: Hm, alright. I'm Dr. March, I'm the researcher overseeing this study and-
D-####-2: And an over glorified pencil pusher. Got it. Lets get this over with.
Dr. March: Gladly.
[ Dr. March sits down across from D-####-2 ]
Dr. March: So, D-####-2.
D-####-2: No. Call me ███ ████████.
Dr. March: I am… Under no circumstances going to call you that. That's just absolutely disrespectful.
D-####-2: Fucking ████.
Dr. March: Lets just get this done so we can get the hell out of here, shall we?
D-####-2: Yeah, lets.
Dr. March: Describe to me your dream's from last night.
D-####-2: I was going to town on a fucking bombshell-
Dr. March: Don't test my patience, ████. I can make your time shit.
[ D-####-2 lunges at Dr. March, grabbing him by his lapel. ]
D-####-2: No one calls me that anymore. No one.
Dr. March: Christ. You know, they invented this thing called a breath mint? You should give it a shot sometime.
[ Armed Security Officers begin to enter the room ]
Dr. March: Don't shoot. It's fine, really.
[[ Dr. March removes D-####-2's hands from his coat and sits down. The guards leave the cell. ]]
Dr. March: Just describe to me your dream's from last night.
[[ D-####-2 is silent for a brief moment before speaking in a mocking tone. ]]
D-####-2: There was the swirl. The one you mentioned. On the ceiling. With the creepy music, and the hands on my neck, and the—
Dr. March: Wait, hold on. Hands on your neck?
D-####-2: Yeah, the swirl. It grew hands and tried to choke me.
Dr. March: I'm gonna say it frankly, you're not fucking with me, are you?
[[ D-####-2 is silent for a brief moment. ]]
D-####-2: No, I'm not.
Dr. March: How wide was the swirl. if you had to guess?
D-####-2: I dunno, big? Like…
[[ D-####-2 stretches his arms about 5 ft. wide. ]]
Dr. March: Was there anything else? Any other details? Anything. give us everything. Anything.
D-####-2: Alright, alright, relax! Can it! There was nothing else, okay? Just what I told you.
[[ //Dr. March pauses for a moment. ]]
Dr. March: Thank you for the information.
D-####-2: Yeah. No problem.
Day 3 - ██/16/20██
[ Prior to entering the containment cell, D-####-2 was facing the cell's corner in the fetal position. ]
Dr. March: Christ, man, are you alright?
[ D-####-2 stands, now in an aggressive stance ]
D-####-2: I'M NOT AFRAID OF NO FUCKING SWIRL.
Dr. March: Easy, settle down now.
D-####-2: You don't know what its like, its not just that spiral on a screen anymore, you'll never know what its like. Its more than a swirl, its more than that, its so much more you'll never even understand, try and take me down but I know whats coming, I know what I've done, I know where I'll go. I'm not afraid of that thing anymore. I'm not afraid of them, I'm not afraid of the lab coats, and I'm not afraid of you.
Dr. March: Calm down. We can help you.
[ D-####-2's neck contorts, and he lunges at Dr. March, lifting him from the ground ]
D-####-2: I'M NOT AFRAID OF YOU, FATHER. YOU WONT'T OWN ME ANYMORE.
[[ Armed Security Officers enter the premises and attempt to neutralize D-####-2. Subject proceeds to take three (3) 9mm shots to the arm, abdomen, and chest. Subject then incapacitates Security Officers with cranial fractures. D-####-2 dislocates and severs Security Officer █████ ████████'s arm, and draws a spiral on the cell wall with blood. Subject proceeds to drag Dr. March to face the wall. ]]
D-####-2: Look, father. It's me. Aren't you proud of me? I know so much.
[ The subject proceeds to throw Dr. March against the cell wall. ]
D-####-2: After tonight, I'm free of you. After tonight, I'm moving up in this world.
[ D-####-2 faces the one way glass. ]
D-####-2: [SCP-3396] is ████████ █ ███████████████ ██████ which exists as a gestalt of ██████████ and ██████████████ █████████ █████████ that currently ██████ and ██████ █████████████ ██ ██ ███ ██████ ██████████. You want to know more of what I know, Director ███████? Come and get me.
[ Armed Reinforcements enter the containment cell, and the subject takes five (5) high-level tranquilizer darts before collapsing to the ground. Dr. March lifts himself from the ground. ]
Dr. March: Get that man into a medically induced coma, restrain him with the strongest cuffs you've got, and for the love of god whatever you do, don't tell anyone what you saw. Contact the Site Director and get her down here ASAP. GO!
[ END LOG ]
Note: Following Day 3 of the experiment, the test was prematurely terminated. Site Director █████ ████████ conferred with the O5 council, and further research was transferred under the jurisdiction of Dr. Viktor Chambers.
Analysis: Experiment shows SCP-#### is capable of transmission through description. The exact nature of SCP-####'s effects is still unknown; Further testing required on the capabilities of SCP-#### as a possible Euclid-praedico Class object.
