Special containment procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a medium room, around 25m x 25m. There must be at least three, incredibly potent spotlights pointing to SCP-5001 at all times and, in case of a power shortage, must be connected to an external source to avoid any type of containment breach. If one of the spotlights crack, or cease to work, five C class personnel, each must be equipped with a multi-AA flashlight and heart monitor are to be dispatched to look for SCP-XXXX. When SCP-XXXX is found, all personnel must point their flashlights directly at it, if one of them experiences unusual cardiac activity, all personnel must focus their flashlights on them, and closely examine their shadow, if SCP-XXXX is present, the subject must be instantly [REDACTED, all personnel must keep their flashlights on SCP-XXXX at all times, while engineers relocate and fix the broken spotlights to once again, point at SCP-XXXX. If SCP-XXXX requests food or drink, it is requested that you ignore it, and do not approach it, SCP-XXXX has never been recorded actively eating or drinking nourishment and all contact with SCP-XXXX should be strictly for research purposes and kept to a minimum, to avoid any other possible occult group forming. Description: SCP-XXXX is a shapeshiftinf shadow, and will completely blend in with other inanimate shadows. It likes to change form and height, and seems to perfectly morph into his ‘prey’s’ deepest of fears, always restricted to shadows, although in all his transformations, it bears a wide grin, with sharp, deformed teeth, and two red, glowing eyes, which are known to ‘bleed’ on occasion . Although it merely exists in a two-dimensional plain, SCP-XXXX can perceive everything normally, and even has a above-average intelligence, and studies and understands the environment around it and even has been recorded to participate in basic human speech, although it’s distorted and high-pitched voice seems to trigger mass fear and paranoia in most subjects.
It refers to it's contained self as being an “eternal guest” and although it uses friendly terms and phrases with it's researchers and interviewers, it would kill or possess anyone, no matter how close they think they are to SCP-XXXX, without a second thought.
If any subject, or their shadow happens to come in contact with SCP-XXXX, SCP-XXXX will seem to transfer onto that person, and seems to completely disappear from his original position. However, if we were to look at his shadow, the classic smile and eyes would always be present, although, for some unknown reason, they are completely invisible to the subject. They will now be referred to as SCP-XXXX-1, depending on how many living subjects SCP-XXXX has implanted itself in. For an hour, the subject will remain completely sane, although as time goes on, the subject seems to hear SCP-XXXX’s voice, even after SCP-XXXX has moved to a new subject, via touch, the subject, no matter the phycological state, enters a state of complete insanity and histeria in just a few hours, and starts to worship and idolise SCP-XXXX at the point that the subject [REDACTED]. During the ‘possesion’ the subject’s heart rate seems to drastically increase and their breathing becomes shaky, and their eyes slowly become more and more bloodshot, along with a new, giant smile.
Thankfully, SCP-XXXX follows the physics and rules of an average shadow and can only move freely in dimmed or dark environment. Although it easily moves on walls if not pinned down by a powerful light source.
Although it usually prefers to ‘possess’ his victims he also highly enjoys harming and [REDACTED].

The “Dark” incident

Recently, during a containment breach, a Class B agent found themselves in a pitch-black room with SCP-XXXX, after SCP-XXXX was contained, the only thing left of the agent was his unrecognisable, mangled body, SCP-XXXX was later questioned.

SCP-XXXX:“I found them alone and scared, and I decided to play a little game!!!!“
SCP-XXXX starts to laugh hysterically, their smile seeming to strangely double in size.
SCP-XXXX: “And what a slow game it was”
Agent Green’s heart rate increased and they start to sweat, seemingly terrified of SCP-XXXX, although refused to admit to such fear when later questioned.
Dr. Charles: “Please continue the interview, we have to get more details, I promise we’ll be out in a second”
Agent Green: “Yeah, Yeah… I know what I’m doing.”
He is now more paranoid than fearful, and his heart rate significantly lowers.
Agent Green: “I have some important questions I want you to answer.”
SCP-XXXX: “Of course! Of course! I’d do anything to help a friend, we are friends aren’t we?”
SCP-XXXX giggles to itself, and it’s eyes start quickly scanning Agent Green, who’s trying his best to look as organised and unaffected as possible.
Agent Green: “The person you killed they were found torn apart, with several bite marks, how were you able to do this, if you aren’t capable of freely wandering around?”
SCP-XXXX: “If you were put in a place we’re you couldn’t move and couldn’t wander free, are you not able to move freely, that’s the thing, you are! You always are!!! You just need to wait for the right moment, for the right darkness… If you turn off these lights, maybe I can show you.”
Dr Charles: “Agent Green, that will be all”
SCP-XXXX: “NO!!!! No!!! I’m not done playing!!! I’m not done yet!!!”
Agent Green: “Well, I certainly am”
Agent Green walks out, and two class B personnel are entered into the room, with multi-AA flashlights.
SCP-5001 becomes more aggressive and starts shrieking and screaming, the two class B clutching their ears, and the lights in the room cracking and flickering.

SCP-XXXX must be kept significantly pleased, to avoid another incident. All except for SCP-XXXX’s room (except for the nessesary spotlights) and other SCP’s if they need to be in darkness, will be brightly lit in case of a breach. All engineers and other fixing personnel must not come in contact with SCP-XXXX and are advised to wear sunglasses and wear something to temporarily disabilitate their hearing, if they want to keep their sanity and avoid mass panic and possible cardiac arrest.
