Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-4340 is to be stored in a standard safe object class storage room. SCP-4340 must always remain in a closed state at all times unless it is being tested on. SCP-4340 must be placed under a 20cmx20cmx20cm acrylic display case 10cm thick. A security camera must be directed towards the back of SCP-4340 to observe the timer.

Description:
SCP-4340 is a 17.78cmx17.78cmx17.78cm modified polaroid 600 instant camera. SCP-4340 is composed primarily of plastic, but also has components made of glass, aluminum, and as of yet unknown materials of unknown origin. SCP-4340 was retrieved [REDACTED] years ago in [REDACTED] Alaska in an abandoned storage unit. Said storage unit had reportedly caught fire after the timer on SCP-4340 reached 0.

SCP-4340's anomalous abilities stem from its ability to see through the view and take pictures of various other dimensions. When a picture is taken with SCP-4340 SCP-4340 will automatically produce film and the picture (referred to SCP-4340-1 from now on) will display the area in another dimension, occasionally capturing creatures or objects. When SCP-4340-1 is then torn, all objects and creatures in SCP-4340-1 will appear where the picture was taken. The dimension being viewed can be controlled by changing the focus of the camera.

SCP-4340 has a timer on the back near the view. This timer counts down from six months when the timer reaches 0 SCP-4340 lets off several very small explosions and is then capable to take video of these dimensions, said videos allow the taker to directly interact with the dimension and enter it for 24 hours. After the 24 hours have ended the user(s) will return to our dimension. Once the video is over the camera will dispense a USB (SCP-4340-B), instead of film, containing all the video taken in the 24-hour span. SCP-4340-B shows no anomalous properties aside from showing video from another dimension.

Test 1: Authorized by dr.[REDACTED]
D-456792 asked to take a picture of the corner of his cell, D-456792 complies. Picture displays open pasture similar to the great plains. In the corner of the picture what appears to be a non-anomalous Canis lupis familiaris. D-456792 accidentally tears the picture, and the "dog" appears. D-456796 is visually startled. D-456792 is asked to approach the "dog", D-456792 hesitates, supervisors press him to do it. The "dog" behaves normally and is generally amiable towards D-456792. Later examination of the animal shows it to have flat grinding molars, and that the animal is an obligate herbivore.

Test 2: Authorized by dr.[REDACTED]
D-786453 asked to take a picture of plains [REDACTED] miles from site [REDACTED]. Photograph shows what appears to be an alternate site [REDACTED] where there is what seems to be an extremely amiable version of SCP-682. Photograph confiscated for safe keeping.

Test 3: Authorized by dr.[REDACTED]
The counter on SCP-4340 reaches 0, SCP-4340 lets off various small explosions and shatters glass containment. Personnel are sent to investigate to find that SCP-4340 is now open and a blinking red light is displayed in the flash. Upon further investigation, they discover that one looking through the view visually appears to stay in our dimension, but is not affected by any physical boundaries in our world. D-236789 is called for experimentation. D-236789 is asked to look through the view, D-236789 is physically taken aback and drops SCP-4340. D-236789 is told to look back through the view, D-236789 refuses. D-236789 is threatened with termination, D-236789 complies. Various strike force members are tethered to D-236789, which allows them to enter the dimension with him. The group describes a barren wasteland, with nothing but what seems to be a destroyed site [REDACTED] in view. The group is asked to approach it, they comply. The group begins to run and scream, claiming that an enormous mound of plant matter approximately the size of a home is chasing them. D-236789 stops looking through the view, and all the members of the group return to our dimension. SCP-4340 is put back into containment. After 24 hours SCP-4340 is observed rattling and dispensing an SCP-4340-B.
