Doctor Thomas Brown

Item #: SCP-4362

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4362 is to be kept in an airtight container at all times with no interaction with site personnel outside of routine monthly check ups. The walls of the container are made of 10 cm thick concrete with a steel door for entrance and exiting. The floor of the cell is comprised of soil and rock that extends down 3 meters in order for SCP-4362 to root itself.

The cell is to be kept at a range 4°C to 15°C to simulate Autumn weather. Any variation above or below this range will result in the leaves of SCP-4362 to fall off and disintegrate into a harmful ash that causes asphyxiation and death within minutes. A light breeze of about 7 km per hour is to be sent through the cell once every 5-10 minutes.

Check ups on SCP-4362 must include no less than 2 on site personnel wearing protective gloves, eye goggles, respirators, and, if necessary, a full body hazmat suit. All personnel involved with the check up are instructed not to touch SCP-4362 with any bare skin or breathe without respirators tightly secured to their mouth and nose region.

Description: SCP-4362 appears to be a normal oak tree, but closer inspection reveals that the tree’s bark is human flesh and the branches are made of the same material as bone. On one of the branches resides a humanoid figure hanging from a rope (dubbed SCP-4362-2). Inspection of the rope reveals that there is no noose or any other knot connecting the rope and 4362-2. Instead, the rope protrudes from the back of its neck and connects the same way to 4362-1.

When provoked, SCP-4362-2 will awaken from its comatose state and attempt to attack anyone within a 10 meter radius, however, it is restricted by the rope from it’s neck and can only move about 1 meter in each direction. Still, on site personnel are instructed to avoid SCP-4362-2.

In the case that 4362-2 manages to grab hold of a subject, it will proceed to bite at the neck in an attempt to cut the jugular. Any attempts to retrieve someone from 4362-2 will result in 4362-2 squeezing harder on the subject until they “pop”.

Once the victim is dead, SCP-4362-2 will spit out a corrosive substance on to the corpse until they are a mushy pile on the floor. The roots of SCP-4362-1 will absorb the remains of the victim. At the same time, new branches will emerge from 4362-1.

SCP-4362 is covered in a corrosive substance, similar to the one emitted by 4362-2, that when touched will melt biological tissue, however it will not melt through bone.

An ash like substance is emitted from the leaves of SCP-4362. Breathing this in will melt the inside of the throat and lungs. The ash coming into contact with the skin will heed the same result as the substance on the bark.

Addendum 4362.1: Discovery

SCP-4362 was discovered in ███████, Kentucky during the Autumn season. Residents of the town called 911 about a body hanging from a tree in the forest near the town. When police arrived on the scene, both officers present died due to exposure to 4362’s ash. When the ambulance arrived shortly after, they attempted to remove 4362-2 from it’s position. This resulted in one ambulance worker being absorbed into SCP-4362-1. All people involved that day have since been ██████.
