Scp-6079
Object Class: Keter
Containment procedures: Scp 6079 is to be contained in a 20 meter X 20 meter X 20 meter reinforced titanium room. There is to be no entry or exit point into the room. Contact with all living and sentient life forms is strictly forbidden. If Scp-6079 breaches containment then operation 23-GAIA is authorized.
Description: Scp-6079 is a red, diamond shaped gem of unknown origin. It is around the size of a large boulder. Its chemical composition is unknown due to the nature of Scp-6079. Upon contact with any sentient or living life form, Scp-6079 will immediately create sharp red Spikes along its entire surface. After three seconds of these spikes forming it will quickly and repeatedly fire them in all directions penetrating all objects they come into contact with. After hitting a target they will then liquify and evaporate. The spikes do not always kill the target instantly however upon further research it was discovered that when the spikes come into contact with blood, the blood of the victim will begin to crystallize and will then disappear and reappear in the containment cell of Scp-6079. This effectively leaves the victim as just a husk of flesh. Any crystallized blood will merge with Scp-6079 effectively increasing its size and mass.
Addendum 1-A: Dr. Van Slyke recieved a report of mysterious disappearances of civilians and tourists in a cave north of ⬛⬛⬛⬛ ⬛⬛⬛⬛ in the northern part of the United States. The cave was near an Indian tribe known as the ⬛⬛⬛ that used the cave as a place of worship. Many of the myths of the tribe in particular spoke of the 'red one' or as others of the same tribe described it as the 'The god of rage'. Further investigation was authorized.
Addendum 1-B: Subject D-10381 was sent into the cave to investigate. He was equipped with a standard 5.7 USG handgun with two extra magazines. He was given a flashlight with 48 hours of battery life. He was also given rations to last him 4 days. He was in contact with Dr. Van Slyke throughout the whole expedition. The conversations go as follows.
D-10381 enters the cave and turns on the flashlight.
D-10381: man it's dark in here.
Dr. Van Slyke: we are aware please continue.
12 hours pass without conversation or incident.
D-10381: I'm getting tired can I have a rest?
Dr. Van slyke: go ahead. We will notify you in 6 hours.
6 hours pass and Dr. Van Slyke wakes D-10381 and asks him to continue. D-10381 complies.
8 more hours pass before D-10381 starts to become agitated.
Dr. Van Slyke: D-10381, you seem distressed.
D-10381: y-yeah… it's just that…
Dr. Van Slyke: Just what?
D-10381: I feel a lot of tension… like something is angry.
Dr. Van Slyke takes note of this and asks him to continue. D-10381 complies.
Three more hours pass before D-10381 stops at the entrance to a corridor inside the cave.
Dr. Van Slyke: Why have you stopped?
D-10381: it's in there. The thing that's been making people dissapear.
A slight red glow is seen reflecting off the cave walls.
Dr. Van Slyke: please enter the room.
D-10381 complies.
Upon entering the room a floating red gem is seen. It immediately sprouts spikes on the surface of it and begins to fire them rapidly. D-10381 screams loudly.
Dr. Van Slyke: D-10381, are you alright?
No response
Dr. Van Slyke lost connection with D-10381
Addendum 2: Authorized by 0-5⬛⬛⬛ MTF Phi was deployed at the scene. The squad entered the cave and proceeded down the Same path as D-10381 before arriving at the corridor. The red glow that was emitting from the room earlier now looked slightly brighter. The team entered the room. Three of the members were using reinforced extendable ballistic shields. As Scp-6079 fired the spikes, as seen observed in the last encounter, they tore through the shields and any protection the MTF squad had. Contact with the squad was lost immediately.
