Special Containment Procedures: Any outside knowledge, information, or research into SCP-#### is to be immediately redacted and/or halted by any means necessary, and all files collected must be placed into site 534 for further research. Any person(s) with knowledge of SCP-#### is to be given class A amnestics and monitored for at least 6 months for any further information they may have gathered. In the event SCP-#### is discovered by the media, any media outlets involved are to be dismissed as a “false news outlet” and a cover stories are to be fabricated explaining a fake nature of ####.
Description: SCP-#### is a pyramid located on the lower half of mars, inside a shallow crater. The structure is 140 meters tall, and 120 meters wide and long. It is made of sandstone and limestone blocks, each of which are 1 x 0.5 x 1.5 meters in size. The structure is estimated to have been built sometime in 2500 BC (earth time), although exact dating is nearly impossible. The structure has five floors, but other than support columns, walls, and several flights of stairs, it is completely empty. However, the internal walls and sides of SCP-#### are completely ordained with an unidentified language. The only other feature to the structure itself is luminescent rocks that light up the interior, but extensive testing has failed to identify them.
SCP-#### is surrounded by a large, extraterrestrial “oasis” of many different species of flora and fauna, which stretches for approximately 250 square kilometers. The flora and fauna have tested to be genetically similar to species on earth but are all unique species that have yet to be named or extensively researched. The ecosystem is very similar to tropical ecosystems, and has food-bearing plants, tropical temperatures, and liquid water flowing through the ecosystem. The atmosphere inside the ecosystem is very similar to that of earth, with approximately 60% nitrogen and 40% oxygen. This anomalous effect surrounds SCP-#### in a circular manner, and outside this area a normal Martian climate and atmosphere is present.
The unknown writing on SCP-#### is a glyph-based writing system with similarities to other glyph languages on earth. The language is not based on any known alphabet, and because of this, is only partially readable. The entrance to SCP-####, which is about 3 meters tall and 1 meter wide, has two lines of writing above it that respectively reads “Martian Memorial, What Mars used to be”. The five floors inside SCP-#### have inscriptions that relate to one aspect each, with varying degrees of translation. Some inscriptions go on for several walls of text, but can be generalized as saying the following:
FLOOR 1
Almost completely translated, talks about the history of mars in great detail, including the organisms that once lived there. It describes in great detail the civilizations that once inhabited mars, the technology that once existed, the infrastructure that made up cities, and the advancements that the intelligent life forms that once inhabited Mars made.
FLOOR 2
Mostly translated, describes in great detail what the intelligent lifeforms that once inhabited Mars looked like. Some descriptions refer to lifeforms that are humanoid, while others refer to unique organisms that could not possibly exist on earth. It goes on to describe a unique culture of intergalactic trade that once existed on Mars, and even describes a stable currency system once used by Martian lifeforms.
FLOOR 3
Somewhat translated, roughly describes the flora and fauna known to surround SCP-####. It also describes other species that once existed on Mars, along with food and spirits the Martian lifeforms consumed.
FLOOR 4
Very little is translated, the fourth-floor talks about what happened to Mars and why it is a desolate wasteland. Only a few phrases can be read, including some suggesting that the Martian lifeforms started “ignoring nature” and were “consumed by technology”. There is also a warning written on one wall suggesting that the Martian lifeforms killed their planet. Research has suggested that these writings may be genuine warnings, but conclusive data has yet to be found.
FLOOR 5
Almost nothing is translated, what can be read is that floor five talks about where the Martian lifeforms went after “The fall of Mars”. The only other thing that can be determined is that “Earth” is referred to several times on the fifth floor.
Due to a lack of funding and volunteers, no human has been inside SCP-#### as of yet, all data has been collected by autonomous probes. However, missions are being planned for 20__.
