Object Designation: SCP-7249
Object Class: Safe.
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-7249 is to be kept in a vacuum-sealed and heavily armoured room, larger than 12 meters to a side, and with a roof more than 8 meters height. Access to SCP-7249 should only be given to level 3+ employees. Under no account should SCP-6294 be allowed anywhere near SCP-7249.
Description: SCP-7249 is a large cube, 8 meters to a side, and appears to be made of some kind of grey stone. Despite this fact, SCP-7249 is largely perfect and pristine, resisting any efforts to damage it or pry it open. Through extensive testing and experimentation, it has been revealed through X-Ray scanning that one of the sides of SCP-7249 is made out of a separate object than the rest of the cube, though the interior resists all attempts to look inside. Despite its almost indestructible nature, SCP-7249 is covered in a number of scratches and chips, though none penetrate deeper than 14 centimeters. SCP-7249 has been in the Custody of the foundation since 03/07/2017. SCP-7249's origins are unknown.
Notable Events:
SCP-7249-01: XX/XX/2017. SCP-6294, in one of its many escape attempts, while being pursued by foundation personnel, somehow got into the room containing SCP-7249, and when personnel entered, they found SCP-6294 attempting to open SCP-7249. SCP-6294 was neutralized by foundation personnel, SCP-7249 will be relocated to a more secure room.
SCP-7249-02: XX/XX/2019. Foundation personnel succeded in opening SCP-7249 via a burst of high powered plasma. upon opening, SCP-7249 spewed massive amounts of yellow gas into the room, which caused the permanent injury of four personnel members, and the death of one level-2 operative before it was vented out of the room. this gas was later discovered to be a mixture of plasmatic hydrogen and gaseous mercury, which dissolved the skin and air tracts of the injured personnel. about 20 tonnes of the gas was vented out of SCP-7249 before it tapered out. However, the interior of SCP-7249 was not visible, as if all light just stayed away from the opening. just darkness. no light could penetrate it, as if the photons were curving around the opening. Experimentation (poking the darkness with a stick) revealed that the darkness was in fact another material, which exhibited the properties of lead, though was strong and resilient enough to withstand the blast with barely a scratch. it raises the question of where the gas came from though…
