Item #: SCP-XXXX

Wireman

Image captured of SCP-XXXX shortly after containment.

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in a cubed room with a floorspace 10 meters square. The floor, walls, and ceiling should be constructed of the same layering scheme as is to be described below with the exception of the viewing-port for research and security observation as well as the single entry and exit point on the opposite wall to the viewing port. Any other chambers described should follow the layering and material scheme as described.

The innermost layer of SCP-XXXX's containment cell should be manufactured from 10cm of tungsten-fibre-reinforced tungsten, followed by 60cm of (non-reinforced) M25 grade concrete with a military-grade Faraday cage manufactured from aluminum-bronze as the outermost layer.

The entry/exit point to the cell must have a one-way mechanical locking door composed of tungsten with a 4cm concrete core, lined by an aluminum-bronze Faraday cage leading to an exit chamber that is no less than 1-meter in length from the cells entry/exit point. The door of this exit chamber should be two-way mechanical locking composed in the same scheme as the one-way door. This exit chamber should additionally have a voicepipe connecting the exit chamber and the observation chamber to facilitate non-electrical communications between the two security staff in each chamber.

A single security staff member of 03 clearance or above is sufficient to maintain containment of SCP-XXXX from the exit chamber and should be equipped with the specialized anti-abrasion PPE as well as a standard propane flamethrower.

See addendum: Request B-3 for information regarding furnishing request of the exit chamber.

An observation chamber is to be constructed adjacent to the containment chamber with a 5mx2m viewing-port manufactured from three layers of 4cm scratch-resistant glass with a wide meshed Faraday cage on the outer layer of the viewing-port to ensure visual clarity. The exit/entry of the observation chamber is to have at least 1m of distance from the viewing port.

The observation chamber should be manned by a single security staff member of 02 clearance or above who is meant to maintain broad visual contact with SCP-XXXX.

See addendum: Request C-2 for information regarding furnishing and leisure request of the exit chamber.

Once a week SCP-XXXX is to be granted a 1kg bar of low-grade nickel which it should be allowed to assimilate into its mass under observation, once at the end of every two-month cycle this nickel bar is to be supplemented with a 1kg bar of high-grade titanium as to maintain the structural integrity of SCP-XXXX filament-wire composite. This process can be forgone at the discretion of site administration for a period of no longer than 1 month in order to maintain SCP-XXXX structural integrity. It is during these assimilation processes that cleaning of the containment chamber should be undergone by the appropriate maintenance staff.

No security, research or maintenance staff of any clearance is permitted to have any electronic devices while assigned to the containment, research or in the proximity of SCP-XXXX or its containment.

Under the circumstances of a containment breach, SCP-XXXX is to be subdued with the application of temperatures approximating 1000°C, preferably through the use of concentrated propane flame. However it is noted that temperatures hotter and applied through different means are unlikely to damage SCP-XXXX in any permanent manner, it has been considered unnecessary to exceed these temperatures if the option is available not to.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a single extrusion of filament-wire composite in a state of perpetual motion, tests on the length and composition of the wire indicate it is approximately 1km in length with a mineral makeup of 50% nickel, 12% carbon steel, 18% titanium, 10% lead, and 20% of a yet unidentified element with the closest analog in behavior being that of cesium; though SCP-XXXX does not seem to be a source of any levels of gamma, alpha nor beta radiations that could be considered harmful to humans.

The motion of the wire runs at a speed between 45
