Item #: SCP-[TBD]

Object Class: Keter(Liable to Change)

Special Containment Procedures: At the current time, there is no discovered method of being able to neutralize or delay the effects of SCP-[TBD]-1. SCP-[TBD]-1 must be monitored at all times by foundation personnel in order to prevent an escape of one of the SCP’s inhabiting it. All roads and riverways entering or passing through the town must be guarded by no fewer than four armed guards posing as either toll station workers or fishermen in order to prevent citizens from entering or instances of SCP-[TBD]-2 from exiting SCP-[TBD]-1. There must be at least twenty undercover foundation personnel posing as citizens of SCP-[TBD-1] in order to alert foundation of any possible anomalous activity going on within SCP-[TBD]-1. In the event of any anomalous activity from SCP-[TBD]-1, the foundation is to send in an MTF in order to deal with the threat before SCP-[TBD]-1 undergoes a “reset”. Once a “reset” begins, all foundation personnel are to be evacuated as soon as possible in order to prevent any personnel from being converted into “citizens” of SCP-[TBD]-1. After a “reset” of SCP-[TBD]-1 any and all anomalies produced prior to the “reset” are to be located and contained by foundation personnel.

Description: SCP-[TBD]-1 resembles an average American town with an estimated population of 15,000 “residents” named Hatchetfield. Anybody who enters SCP-[TBD]-1 will exhibit no adverse effects until a “reset” occurs, at which point any people still within SCP-[TBD]-1 will have approximately ten minutes to escape SCP-[TBD]-1 before they are converted into instances of SCP-[TBD]-2. If a normal human is converted into an instance of SCP-[TBD]-2, they will cease all brain function and undergo the accelerated decomposition experienced by all instances of SCP-[TBD]-2 Instances of SCP-[TBD]-2 are biologically identical to normal humans with one main difference. Instances of SCP-[TBD]-2 will have their memories wiped and their personalities and professions changed in order to fit in as “residents” of SCP-[TBD]-2. Once a “reset” occurs, all instances of SCP-[TBD]-2 will cease all brain function and will begin rapid decomposition. This accelerated form of decomposition will take about five to ten minutes for the instance of SCP-[TBD]-2 to be fully decomposed, in which case, any items that the instance was carrying (this includes all objects that are within the instance’s possession) will begin to disintegrate, leaving nothing left. After the instance of SCP-[TBD]-2 is completely decomposed, they will reform in a bed or sleeping bag in their previous location before the “reset” occurred in a comatose state with all memories of the anomalous incident wiped.

SCP-[TBD]-1 produces other anomalies, it has currently produced ten known anomalies and is expected to produce more. SCP-[TBD]-1 is periodically destroyed (either directly or indirectly) by anomalies it produces, at which point it will begin to undergo a “reset” in which all aspects of SCP-[TBD]-1 are restored to a point before it was destroyed. This includes instances of SCP-[TBD]-2, buildings, objects, animals, and plants. This process takes an average of twelve hours, though it has been recorded to take as little as two hours or as long as four days. The amount of time Although, it has been noted that anomalies produced by SCP-[TBD]-1 remain largely unaffected by “resets”. Once a “reset” completes, foundation personnel will have a period of two days before all instances of SCP-[TBD]-2 will wake up and resume their day-to-day activities. If foundation personnel are unable to contain the anomaly within the two day time period, they are to continue attempting to contain the anomaly until a “reset” begins to occur, at which time all standard procedures are to followed. The recorded time between destruction of SCP-[TBD]-1 has ranged from three days between resets and up to two years between resets. There is no consistent pattern within this timeframe. It is not known what specific conditions are required for a “reset” to occur, though it is theorized that a specific level of destruction within SCP-[TBD]-1 will initiate a “reset” state.
