Special Containment Procedures:
Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, containment is not currently possible. Investigations into SCP-XXXX manifestations are ongoing to determine if future containment of SCP-XXXX can be accomplished. In the intervening time, Mobile Task Forces Epsilon-6 “Village Idiots” and Pi-1 “City Slickers” are to monitor metropolitan, urban, and suburban centers for any reports of “false twins” to any authorities. If a manifestation is discovered, MTF units are to focus on the rescue of SCP-XXXX-2 and the neutralization of the SCP-XXXX manifestation. If SCP-XXXX is successfully neutralized, SCP-XXXX-2 loses it's designation as an SCP.
SCP-XXXX can only embed positive memories into humans. MTF units are to question the family of SCP-XXXX-2 for any negative memories of either, and terminate whichever does not have any. Class C amnestics are to be administered post-neutralization to remove any false memories that may not have de-manifested upon SCP-XXXX’s neutralization, as well as any memories of contact with Foundation operatives.
Description:
SCP-XXXX is a humanoid entity or entities capable of shifting its appearance and vocal patterns to mimic its victim. Encounters begin with an instance of SCP-XXXX manifesting over the victim's bed upon waking, presumably after copying the victim’s appearance. SCP-XXXX embeds fabricated memories into those whom the victim, designated SCP-XXXX-2, has come into close contact with by currently unknown means and should be considered a cognitohazard.
SCP-XXXX slowly gathers information over a two month timespan before beginning to interact verbally with SCP-XXXX-2’s family and friends. This information-gathering is not noticed by anyone except SCP-XXXX-2. SCP-XXXX-2’s mood begins to rapidly shift from relatively positive to extremely depressed and increasingly suicidal. Over a 3 month time period, SCP-XXXX-2’s mental state is slowly destroyed. Self harming tendencies will appear within the first two weeks of SCP-XXXXs manifestation.
Manifestations end in SCP-XXXX-2 commiting suicide using methods involving asphyxiation. (Ex. Hanging) Upon death of SCP-XXXX-2 all implanted memories de-manifest in SCP-XXXX-2’s family and friends. The body of SCP-XXXX-2 vanishes to a currently unknown location after being first encountered by family members post-mortem, though it is presumed to be taken by SCP-XXXX.
