Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5233-j is to be kept within a room monitored 3-8 hours a day. The subject is entitled to having a bed, clothes, entertainment, and food. When cleaning the room, SCP-5233-j is to be blindfolded and tied up to avoid being able to influence individuals from allowing it to leave. If interviews are to be held, it needs to be within a room at least 30 meters away from SCP-5233-j's containment cell. All D class personnel are to be accompanied by a guard at all times due to the event of looking SCP-5233-j in the eyes from SCP-5233-j from a distance up to 30 meters. In the event of any personnel falling under influence of SCP-5233, personnel affected must be terminated or the removal of a limb from SCP-5233-j is required to subdue the effects. Any person under the effects of SCP-5233 is to be put in confinement or terminated. Under the circumstances when personnel affected are condemned to confinement, they are to be classified as SCP-5233-2, as it is part of the SCP-5233 phenomenon. Whether SCP-5233-j is under surveillance or being interviewed, a Psychologist specialized in narcissism and god-syndrome is to be on sight of the monitor system for SCP-5233-j.
Description: SCP-5233 is implied to be a mental state caused by SCP-5233-j. SCP-5233-j appears to be a young boy of Irish descent being around 8-10 years of age. The clothes worn by SCP-5233-j date back to the early 1920's approximately around the time of WWII. SCP- 5233-j is missing an eye, four fingers, and an ear. SCP-5233-j's eye is very glassy and appears to be almost a luminescent green, appearing to be different luminosities in the eye of the beholder.
It is unknown how to completely terminate the effect as tests conclude that removing a limb from SCP-5233-j is only proven effective to end it's effect within a ███-meter radius. Other tests conclude that the subject's self-esteem has an effect on SCP-5233-j, and repeated exposure will result in an incredibly low self-esteem. It has become apparent that SCP-5233-j preys on those with high self-esteem rather than those with low esteem.
Addendum 5233.1: Discovery
SCP-5233 was reported roughly in 1989 after a mass suicide by the effects of SCP-5233-j. SCP-5233-j was found in a small city named ███████ where the whole town allegedly committed suicide due to a brainwashing effect. SCP-5233-j was the only survivor. People ages 3 and up were found dead when Agent █████ and several others came on site. It is unclear who made the report, but whomever it could have been is likely now deceased.
Incident A: SCP-5233-j on one occasion was able to leave containment for a brief period. During ██ hours out of containment, SCP-5233-j was accompanied by a guard. It was observed to seemingly be playing hide and seek with D-class personnel before incident A had occurred. SCP-5233-j was able to take control of the guard where the guard initially shot and killed each of the D-class personnel in sight. The guard was then detained after security staff ████████ the guard.Since this incident it is noted by Dr.██████ that when handling SCP-5233-j, it is to be blindfolded.
Notes: SCP-5233-j is noted to be very playful and childish, which is to be expected due to its appearance. Despite looking age 8-10, it is in fact over ███ years of age. SCP-5233-j prefers to go by the name 'Milo'. This was likely it's former name before it was classified as an anomaly. Despite feeling pain when it's ███████ are removed, it will quickly pass and will not lose any blood. However, it is noted that it's blood is actually black in colour and only flows through the chest cavity and the head. It is unknown what will happen to SCP-5233-j when there is a significant loss of blood from either area of the body as it's skin around the area is impenetrable. All attempts to pierce through the chest cavity were proven unsuccessful. Due to this, it is unknown whether or not SCP-5233-j has a skeleton similar to a human being or regardless if it has one at all.
On an unrelated note, SCP-5233-j appears to have the most peculiar interests. Despite being seemingly young, SCP-5233-j prefers bitter things over than sweets. This is most peculiar considering the fact that it does not need to eat nor drink. Another detail to consider is how we are able to identify those affected by SCP-5233 to either have low self-esteem, a bitter smell, or in some instances, both symptoms.
May it also be noted that SCP-5233-j is in fact capable of speech and often lies. It is able to lull you into a false sense of security and even capable of high level speech among the scientist of the SCP facility. In the events that any plans or tests from faculty is heard from SCP-5233-j, the test and/or plan is to cancelled immediately. MTF may also need to be involved and are to take SCP-5233-j to Site ██ to take Class C Amnestics.
Part of it's higher level speech and thinking is it's █████. During repeated attempts to lull others into a false sense of security, it often makes childish drawings and speaks ████ to seem more like a kidnapped child rather than a dangerous anomaly. (note that Doctor Bright is not allowed to see SCP-5233-j despite being over 18 years of age.)
Despite all of this, it is interesting to note that SCP- 5233-j has only attempted to escape at least █ times.
